We sent M’pho Lebojoa to Wild Life fest… here’s what she had to say
The sister festival to Parklife in Manchester, I thought this one would be a more low-key affair. But after riding on the shuttle bus to the nearest drop off point, I was amazed to see the mass people waiting in the queues…
We entered the festival via the main entrance and were greeted by a loud progressive beat, this was the ‘WHP Presents’ stage, my favourite stage all weekend (Sunday’s line up was the most alluring) and the best set design by far, a white grand structure sort of resembling a block of apartments with large screens displaying visuals. As you walked further into the festival, you were met by glitter covered girls of course stacked in their temporary festival tattoos and face jewels. The attire was a majority of denim cutoffs and bodysuits, a few fringed jackets, lace dresses and unitards, but whether the weather permitted or not, some skin was definitely to be shown! For the guys it seems that bucket hats are making a return this summer, dart your eyes into the crowd and you are for sure to spot a few bucket hats floating on the youthful festival goers.
One thing that was highly noticeable was the youthfulness of the crowd. It seemed that the majority was a younger demographic ranging from 14-19, I noticed they were mainly huddled at the main stage during performances by the likes of Skepta, James Bay and Bastille as well as the Big Top stage when Flume performed his set. Nonetheless, the energy and vibe were great, and with an unlimited supply of hotdogs, burgers and slushies, it was set to be a great day!
The personal goals we set back on January 1st are a long distant memory and the pressures of the ‘perfect summer body’ have escalated into panic mode.
Extreme diets are in full swing, maybe you’ve gone for the aloe vera shots or a juicing detox? You’ve booked yourself on high intensity interval training and hot yoga even though you nearly barfed after it last time. But who cares, you have your heart set on a sheer little number for a beach party you just HAVE to have and nothing less than flawless abs is good enough! Just think of how good you’ll look in your Insta pics..
Your friends all say they drink kale smoothies for breakfast and eat quinoa for lunch so you feel compelled to join in. But realistically are they? (Yeh right!)
There are some days when only a fully loaded burger and shoestring fries will do and YES it is ok to just ‘netflix & chill’ in your onesie even though you RSVP’d to running club! YOLO
We love to travel and earlier in the week we packed our cases and headed to Lisbon to shoot our French summer campaign with 3 mega babes, Freddie Harrel, Sananas and Aliyya.

Consider yourself a dream to drive with? Take a gander at this list and try and tell me you’re not one of these lot once you’re behind a wheel. I dare you.
1. The Hot Mess
If you don’t have a friend that uses their car as a bin on wheels… then guess what? You are that friend.
A trip to the cinema seems like a great idea, until you’re faced with the task of swimming through a sea of plastics bottles, receipts and left-over wrappers from Maccies.
Your car smells of chips and sadness. Take me home immediately.
Half of your friends have long term life plans – sub-categorised by year, colour coded by month and you can’t even put together a pair of matching socks. DW, if all else fails there’s the option to move into your mum’s garden shed later in life and adopt a few cats.
… All jokes aside, your twenties are supposed to consist of fun and a sh*t load of mistakes. How are you supposed to know that you need to go and bust a gut at the gym if you haven’t spent all weekend in bed with a maccies first?!… You with me now?
Grab a big fat marker pen, ’cause here are a list of things you can cross off your worry list:
1. “I don’t have a life plan (long or short)” – Unless it’s in your expectations to become the next prime minister – this is NOT an issue. Plans never go accordingly anyway, embrace the unexpected.
