You know it. We know it. Summer is just around the corner and with it, a whole loada unique and quirky pop-ups too. From a Neverland-inspired rooftop with mermaid slushies to a hidden spritz garden with refreshing plates and drinks – here’s how to make the most of your summer days and nights in London.

Adult Playground at Roof East

Roof East might be a little out of the way if you’re not a resident of east London, but it’s going to be one of this summer’s hottest hangouts all thanks to its quirky adult playground theme. Alongside Birdie’s crazy golf and an outdoor cinema club (where you can scoff bottomless popcorn), this fantastic rooftop is also going to have American-style baseball batting cages and a roller disco blasting out all of your ‘80s favourites. Looks like heaven is a place on earth after all.

Open: 4th of May

Bangarang

Queen of Hoxton have bid farewell to their Viking stronghold to transport you to a little place called Neverland this summer. Their pop-up is calling all lost children to the clouds for a flurry of mermaid slushie cocktails spiked with frozen prosecco and brilliant bites (if you ask us, the Peter Pan prawns are a must-try). Unique in every way possible, escape the banal this summer and take refuge in their Lost Boy’s Hideout Bar for some drinks or climb aboard their pirate ship to meet your undecided fate.

Open 4th May – October 2017

The BBQ Club

There are a few words that spring to mind when ‘summer’ is mentioned – 99s, ice-cold margaritas, blazing BBQs. Instead of breaking a dozen matches trying to set your Tesco-bought BBQ alight this summer, take a trip to Southbank. Pop-up king, Jimmy Garcia, has set up the ultimate BBQ experience and it’s split across not one, but two levels. The BBQ Club will have a downstairs bar for mouth-watering takeaway bites but upstairs is where you wanna be. The rooftop supper club will boast beautiful views of the Thames and it will have an ever-revolving menu where you can toast marshmallows and build your own s’mores.

Open: May 19th – September 2017

Pergola Paddington

Pergola on the Roof reeled in the masses with twinkling fairy lights, leafy flower displays and some incredible bites from London’s best casual dining restaurants last summer, and this year they’re opening up a sister venue in Paddington. Fronting residencies from the likes of Raw Press and Decatur (and featuring the same pretty foliage as its older sibling), it’s going to be one of this year’s coolest al fresco hangouts.

Open: May 24th to 1st October 2017

Spritz Garden

You didn’t hear this from us, but the Bird of Smithfield are transforming their rooftop terrace into a dreamy Spritz Garden this summer. Venture through their five-storey Georgian Townhouse and you’ll find an intimate space with jasmine trees adorning the walls and a killer cocktail list. Whether you’re feeling adventurous and opt for the honeysuckle fizz with Belvedere vodka and fresh muddled plums, or stick to the classic Aperol spritz – you’re guaranteed a hit-the-spot concoction and a tan (if the sun decides to make an appearance, that is).

Open: 8th May- Late September

Coastline Restaurant

There’s a trendy seaside pop-up coming to sky-high exclusive members’ club Searcy’s at the Gherkin this summer, and DesignMyNight can get you in. Decorated with candy-coloured beach huts, a fishing boat and cute deckchairs; settle down and admire 360 views of London while tucking into some nostalgia-inducing bites like gourmet fish and chips, mini doughnuts and candy floss. Teaming up with Plymouth Gin (England’s oldest working gin distillery), there will also be a tantalising list of cocktails to keep your thirst at bay. Was that pun intended? Yes. Yes it was.

Open: 24th July to 1st September 2017

Neverland London

Raise your middle finger to adulthood and responsibility this summer and make tracks for Neverland; one of London’s quirkiest pop-ups. Situated along the Thameside, this colourful summer soiree boasts sandy beaches, leafy palm trees, painted beach huts and hanging swings. As if that wasn’t enough to reel you in, entry is only £5 and it covers your corkage fee. Yes, ladies – this pop-up has answered all of your ‘I’m broke’ prayers with a BYOB policy. There will be four street food vendors on site too and a Beach Butler should you require an extra hand.

Open: 10th May – 3rd October

Cocktails in the City

Consider yourself a cocktail connoisseur? Whip out your diary and scribble down Cocktails in the City as your July priority. Here for two days, this al fresco event will gather 26 of London’s best bars to battle it out and bring you a mirage of mind-blowing cocktails. Expect to see all your fave bars working their mixology magic, and a string of impressive street food vendors to keep your hunger from calling.

Open: 28th July – 29th July

Brixton Beach

It mightn’t be new on the scene, but that doesn’t mean that Brixton Beach has lost any of its summer charm. Back bigger and bolder than ever with a Cuban theme, this Brixton plot has a DJ line-up to make your jaw hit the sand and a summer-focused menu offering rum-spiked mojitos and delicious street food. If you want to escape London’s bustling streets come warmer climates, make a beeline for Brixton.

Open: May 27th
