So, where can you find it? It is located on the island of Providenciales in Turks & Caicos. Just hold on a minute while we book our flights…
But first, what is it all about? Potcake Place is a charity whose aim is to rescue stray dogs. Gathering around 50-70 pups each year, they started up in 2005 to help dogs on the island facing the risk of starvation. The name ‘potcake’ refers to a breed of dog who are a mix of Labrador Retriever, German Shepherd and English Fox Terriers – and can we all just acknowledge how god damn cute they are?! Our hearts are melting…
Potcake Place help people adopt the dogs, which is free! However they do ask for a donation of course, you have to be over 25 and all household members must be aware of the 10-15 year commitment the charity has said. You can go and visit, play with puppies all day as well as help out – the volunteers who work there encourage visitors so that is good enough for us!
We can’t think of a better way to spend our vacay!
