In the immortal gospel of TLC, a scrub is a guy who thinks he’s fine and is also known as a buster. Whilst we try and navigate the modern age of Tinder dates and sliding into people’s DMs, it’s becoming more and more difficult to separate the Hugh Grant’s from the Colin Firth’s.

So how do you know if you should call it quits with your significant other?

1. You pay for everything

I’m not just talking about dates here (although it’s nice to be treated occasionally). If you’re paying for his car, rent or his baby mama, you’d better drop him like he’s hot.

2. He constantly checks out other girls

There’s nothing wrong with window shopping other hotties from afar with the right company. It’s rude AF to commit the crime in front of your boo, and can cause major issues in yourself and the relationship.

3. He makes you feel insecure

In the book of dating 101, this is an unforgivable offence. Whether he jokes about your biggest insecurities or he’s controlling and manipulative, you’d better get out ASAP.

4. He only thinks about himself

His utterly selfish conversations revolve solely around his life and his problems. Do you think Beyonce would tolerate this kind of behaviour?

5. He doesn’t support you

Your dreams, your goals, your decision making whether good or bad. A good boyfriend should be your number one fan and have your back, no matter what.

6. He cheats

Need I say more? Next!

7. The hot and cold syndrome

There’s nothing more infuriating than a guy who constantly blows hot and cold. A good relationship needs to show a consistent level of love and loyalty, even when the going gets tough.

8. He talks about his ex

Whether that’s completely bashing her or telling a tale of lost love, someone who talks about their ex too much clearly isn’t over them. Dodge that bullet whilst you can.

9. He doesn’t try with your friends and family

My friends and family are my entire world, so if my S.O didn’t bother letting on to them, it’d be over before it even started.

10. He doesn’t make you happy

The most obvious reason for telling that boy to hit the road. If he doesn’t make you happy, then it’s time to call it quits.
