With NHS Blood and Transplant discovering that 35% of 18-24 year olds are scared to give blood, we’re fighting the fear and telling you blood doesn’t have to be scary.
Scared it will be painful? Don’t let this stop you from potentially saving lives. People say that blood donation is no more painful than feeling a small scratch.
And if you’re super busy with work or uni, it doesn’t take up too much time either. The average appointment is about an hour with the actual donation part taking 5-10 minutes!
Almost half of blood donors are over 45, so isn’t it time for the younger generation to keep the country pumping too?
New donors are needed now more than ever to ensure the right blood types are available for those in need.
