Leap year, bringing a whole new meaning to Beyoncé’s “if you like it then you should’ve put a ring on it”. Today ladies, if you should feel so inclined, you can pop the question to your other half.  February 29th tradition dictates that women can take marital matters into their own hands.  Girl power!

Not everyone needs a leap year to give them the courage to go get what they want, here are some of our favorite ladies that didn’t hang about to be asked. 

Jennifer Hudson

Jenifer Hudson went for the traditional approach and got down on one knee to ask her WWE boyfriend David Otunga to marry her. Not to miss a trick she also doubled the proposal as his birthday present. What’s my present? Me!

Pink

Not one to do the ordinary, Pink decided the perfect time to propose to motor cross champion Carey Hart was on his third lap at the Californian races. She held up a sign saying ‘Will u marry me? Serious!’ . To which she got a yes. Serious.

Kristen Bell 

Even the sweet Frozen star popped the question to actor Dax Shepard. Kristen used the chance to both get her man and promote marriage equality tweeting:

‘@daxshepard1 will you marry me? Xo #marriageequality #loveislove’

To which he replied ‘F*** YES!’

And why wouldn’t he?

And finally our fave model and eyebrow idol allegedly popped the question to St. Vincent earlier this month. She got down on one knee under the Eiffel tower, who knew she was such an old romantic? We love her even more now.

So why not suck it up, pull up your breeches and go ask that special someone..
