Raise your hand if you’re guilty of a cheeky social stalk every now and then? Yep, we feel ya. Well that could soon be a thing of the past as rumour has it Instagram is testing a new feature that alerts the account you’ve screenshotted to let them know you’re creeping. OH HELL NO.

Goodbye late night stalks with the squad. Unless you don’t mind being caught out of course. They’re currently A/B testing so you may not even notice yet. So what does it look like? Well, you’ll get a pop up warning that the next time you do it, the person will know. And thankfully it’s not as in your face as you first may think. In their reg story stats, there’s a section which will show who’s been screenshotting that story. So screenshot wisely guys and girls.

In a statement to TechCrunch, Instagram admitted the test stating how they’re “always testing to improve the experience on Instagram and make it easier to share any moment with the people that matter to you.” Um OK – if anything it means we’ll be sharing it less. It’s not set that it will actually roll out – as they’re wanting to see if it affects engagement, so you’ve got some creeping days left. Let’s keep our fingers crossed…
