Let’s be honest with all the pressures of modern day life – things can get pretty hectic. From having the career you’ve always dreamed of, bagging yourself a bae, rent prices, climate change, women’s rights, Trump…we barely have anytime for ourselves. And it’s so easy to get caught up in your daily stresses. Sometimes we need to sit down, breathe and assess the sitch.

Here are five to unwind and restore your body and mind…

And Breathe

No need for fancy apps here, all you need to do is sit or lie in a comfortable position, somewhere quiet and breathe deeply in and out. The only thing you should be concentrating on is your breathing – let any thoughts, stresses and mental to-do lists float away. Ah, bliss.

Stretch It Out

While spending hours on social media looking at cute animals is all fun and games, you could have followed a yoga video in the time you’ve just watched a cat do a handstand.

Create a Zen Zone

Run yourself a bubble bath, light some candles, get in aaaand relax. Sometimes alone time is the best time. Create a zen zone in your room (or anywhere that you feel most relaxed in your house) with fairy lights, candles, flowers, cushions and a cosy blanket.

Get Organised

I know – surely this is the last thing you wanna do ‘cos it will stress you out more when you think about all the things you need to do. BUT I’m not just talking about writing another to do list. I am talking about decluttering to destress. You’ll feel so much better, trust me.

Aromatherapy That Stress

It only takes a minute to drip lavender, tee tree or another essential oil into your palm and inhale. You can do this any time of the day. The soothing scents will help send stress and anxiety packing – perfect!
