Slid into someone’s DMs when you’re drunk? Messaged the wrong group? Or just a general gone wrong sitch? Well luckily, Facebook’s looking to introduce an unsend feature, making the morning after digital regret a thing of the past.
Deets are yet to be confirmed about how exactly it’ll work with hints of expiration timers or being able to wipe the message instantly. It’s also unclear whether the recipient will be notified of us trying to wipe up our mistakes and if they’ll have the functionality of screenshotting – we’re hoping for no TBH.
If it’s successful, it’s looking to be rolled out in the next few months. A spokesperson for Facebook told Techcrunch: “We have discussed this feature several times. And people using our secret message feature in the encrypted version of Messenger have the ability to set a timer — and have their messages automatically deleted. We will now be making a broader delete message feature available. This may take some time.”
And now we wait…
