Even if you’re not into your museums, we bet we can change your mind. Because the world’s first ever sausage dog museum is here to make our lives that lil’ bit better.
Located in the German town of Passau on the Austrian border, The Dackelmuseum, run by two ex florists houses almost 5,000 toys and other sausage dog items. Interestingly a dachshund named Waldi was the Munich Olympics mascot back in 1972, so it’s safe to say they love the breed as much as we do.
The museum opened this week and it’s the first of its kind in the world thanks to curators Seppi Küblbeck and Oliver Storz. Seppi told the BBC: “The world needs a sausage dog museum… No other dog in the world enjoys the same kind of recognition or popularity as the symbol of Bavaria, the sausage dog.”
