We caught up with Aussie YouTube sensation, your go-to beauty guru and major influencer Lauren Curtis to talk everything from what a typical week looks like for her and how she spends her days off.
Tell us about yourself.
I’m 26 and I live in Perth, Western Australia with my boyfriend Reece and my dog Mia. I’m an introvert and a homebody which is half the reason why I started my YouTube channel back in 2011 – I got to share my love of makeup with people from all over the world, from the comfort of my own home!

Authenticity, honesty and following your heart.
What keeps you motivated?
My long and short term goals and helping people live a better life in any way that I can.
What’s a typical week in your life look like for you?
It changes every week, but I’ll usually start the week off by recording and editing a few episodes for my new Podcast, Mental Makeover. The following day I might film a video, and then spend the next day editing. The last days of the week are spent working on my sleepwear business, Lauren Curtis Lounge, and new business – yet to be unveiled!
In between those major tasks are lots of emails and boring (but necessary) admin stuff. Oh, I also have a personal trainer three times a week, which helps with being on my butt all day due to the work that I do!
What’s the best thing about what you do?
The freedom and flexibility that comes with working for myself. Don’t get me wrong, that also has its downsides, but I love being to able to control how I spend each day. I also love being able to reach such a large amount of people, and using the platform for good.
What do you do on your days off?
Gardening, going out to breakfast or lunch, exploring and taking photos, taking my dog to the park, seeing my friends and family, the usual stuff!
What’s one piece of advice you would always tell your best friend?
Always trust your gut and follow your heart.
If you weren’t doing this what would you do?
I’ve got absolutely no idea!
What are you looking forward to for the rest of 2019?
Launching my new business – I can’t wait!
