We caught up with your fave girl from the ‘Gram, Kaela Tavares, to talk all things spring/summer and get her take on how to take your look to the next level this occasion wear season.

What would you typically wear for a spring/summer big deal occasion?

I would personally wear a pretty summer dress and accessorise my outfit to dress it up a bit more with some cute heels. I would definitely leave my hair curly and go more natural with my makeup with a golden/glowy glam.

How experimental are you when it comes to what you wear and your glam?

I can be quite experimental when it comes to choosing my outfits. I stick to what I know, but what I know is a bit different to what most girls would wear. I still love trying new things but I always find myself sticking to my own personal style. My glam is almost always the same, I like to keep my make up simple and my hair natural.

What trends are you looking forward to wearing this spring/summer?

I’m looking forward to wearing bright/summer colours and updating my summer with cute summer dresses and lightweight staples.

I’m excited to experiment more with my hair this coming season. The super hot weather during Australian summer limits me from keeping my long hair down all the time. Braids, plaits, pony tails, head scarves and hair accessories. Can’t wait.

Where do you get your inspiration from when it comes to getting dressed?

I pull most inspiration from music artists like Rihanna and Kehlani but when dressing up I always think of the saying, “Show out or no one will even notice you showed up”. Outfit and glam always has to be at 100.

What’s your go-to playlist you listen to while getting ready?

I love listening to old school RNB music like Destiny’s Child, Jagged Edge, Usher, Mariah Carey etc. It always gets me in a good mood and sets me up for my day.

Tell us some beauty tips you’ve picked up from makeup artists

I’ve worked with a few makeup artists and the one thing I’ve always picked up from them is that less is more. You don’t need to apply heaps of make up to achieve a dramatic look.

Blending is also important because it leaves your makeup looking flawless and airbrushed.

What are your most looking forward to this spring/summer?

Definitely looking forward to the hot weather! I love Aussie summer. Beach days, pool parties, warm nights etc. I always have the most fun in Spring/Summer! I’m also excited for the new year and to set new goals.
