This week, we’re crushin’ on singer-songwriter and Aussie babe, Betty Who.

She released her latest single, Ignore Meearlier this year and starts her tour of the US this month. Here’s what went down when we grabbed five…

How did it all start for you?

I started playing cello when I was four, and I’ve been enamoured with music and performing since then.

What does your typical day look like?

On an ideal day, I’ll wake up early so I get a little extra lay-in-bed-with-the-fiancee time, hit yoga then head to the studio and work on finishing up some of my new songs.

Describe your sound in three words…

Fun, indulgent pop

What was your most memorable gig?

Singing for President Barack Obama.  That was pretty crazy. Also, more recently, selling out and playing Brooklyn Steel.

What did you have on your playlist growing up?

Lots of Britney Spears, Nsync and Christina Aguilera.

What’s the last song you listened to?

Kitty Kat by Beyoncé

Who’s the coolest person you’ve met?

Jack Antonoff is pretty fucking cool.

If you could collab with anyone who would it be and why?

I would kill to write with James Blake. He’s been the soundtrack to so many pivotal moments in my life.

What does 2018 have in store for you?

Busy, busy, busy. Lots of hard work hopefully paying off!

What advice would you give anyone wanting to get into music?

Figure out what makes you different, makes you you then follow it blindly.

My style is…

Confusing, even for me.

I really can’t live without…

C O F F E E

At the weekend I can be found…

Catching up on my favourite shows

My special skills are…

I make amazing soup. I don’t know what it is about soup.  But I can just nail it.

I’m always talking about…

2001 era Britney Spears

The hashtag I always use is…

#JusticeForPrettyGirls

A word or phrase I overuse is…

“Literally”
