On Feb. 1, Beyoncé released some of the best news of 2017 with an iconic Instagram photoshoot. Beyoncé was pregnant – with twins. The two newest Carters, Sir and Rumi, were born in June.

 

3. One Love Manchester

Raising money in memory of the 22 tragically killed in a suicide attack in May, Manchester Arena reopened its doors as thousands, including survivors and bereaved relatives, joined hands to celebrate the city’s spirit. #WeAreManchester

 

4. Prue’s Bake-Off Fail

Perhaps one of 2017’s best fails was Prue’s premature announcement of Bake Off winner. That’s right, while on her hols, Prue Leith accidentally tweeted her congrats to series winner, Sophie, before the show had aired. Oh Prue…

 

 

5. Gemma Collins falling down a hole

No 2017 round up would be complete without mention of The GC and her fall through a trap door just moments after announcing Best TV Show at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards. Oh Gem…

 

6. #SaltBae

If you haven’t heard of #SaltBae, where have you been for all of 2017? Turkish chef quickly went viral as his sassy salt sprinkling tekkers seasoned the nation. With almost 3 million IG followers and a whole lotta memes, could #SaltBae be the biggest rise to fame of the year?

 

 

7. Stormzy on Love Island

While we commiserate the fact that Love Island 2k17 is over, we can’t help but look back over some of our highlights – from the wise words of Dr Marcel to the Kem and Chris bromance. But the ultimate moment has to be Stormzy making an appearance to offer the boys rap advice!

 

8. Michelle Obama at the Inauguration

After 8 years of photocalls, we’d expect Michelle Obama to be pro at hiding her true feelings. But at this year’s presidential inauguration, it all got a little too much for our fave former first lady. Her WTF side-eye look really was all of us!

 

 

9. Adele dedicates Album of the Year Grammy win to Beyoncé

What began as an exposé quickly became a viral social media movement, pathing the way for social change. Girls united across the nation with their #MeToo status and stories. Girl Power FTW!

 

11. La La Land’s Almost Oscar

Who can possibly forget envelopegate at The Oscars! Cutting La La Land’s moment short as the entire cast joined on stage to accept the award, producers broke up the party to announce that the winner of Best Picture was in fact Moonlight… *facepalm*
