Don’t wash your hair every day, switch up your products – things we’re told aaaalll the time, but which ones are true? We caught up with Liam at Trevor Sorbie to get the hair 411…

TELL US YOUR TOP HAIR TIPS?

Hair care. Look after your hair. Baylages are in, highlights are always in – there’s a lot of bleach going on. Olaplex is a great thing to use if you’re gonna use bleach, and also use treatments. You won’t regret it.

COMMON HAIR FAILS WE ALL MAKE?

Colouring and cutting at home. You never get the results, it doesn’t look how you think and you don’t get to see me!

SHOULD YOU STICK TO THE SAME PRODUCTS?

Mix up your products – don’t keep using the same ones. The results aren’t the same as they first were. After three to six months, change it up!

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU GET A HAIR CUT?

Between six weeks and three months depending on shorter haircuts or longer weaves. If you’re not sure, speak to your stylist.

IS COLOURING BAD FOR YOUR HAIR?

Colouring can damage your hair when you’re using bleach. If you’re using semi-permanent, it’s not as bad but I’d always advise speaking to your stylist.

HEAT PROTECTOR? YAY OR NAY?

Yes. Your hair will be frazzled if you don’t use one.

SHAMPOOING TWICE – DO WE DO IT?

Yes! One is to lift the dirt, the second is to remove it. Use a small amount, do it twice and you’ll notice the results.

WASH YOUR HAIR EVERY DAY?

No – don’t wash your hair every day. There’s no need, it’s gonna dry it out and it’s a waste of time and product.

CONDITION YOUR ROOTS?

No – don’t apply conditioner to your roots. It’s a waste of product and who wants a pancake for hair?
