Ever felt personally victimised by the gym? We’ve all been there. With warmer weather and summer holidays on the horizon, we all want to get fit, just not inside a torturous sweatbox. To get you inspired, we asked our friends at DesignMyNight for some quirky ways to get fit in London, so you can actually enjoy working out. From yoga with your pooch to an exercise class in Highgate Woods, say hello to a fitter you.

1. Disco Yoga

A yoga session with a side of Disco Inferno? Forget what you heard about snooze-inducing exercise classes, because at Disco Yoga, you’ll be covering yourself in glitter before cavorting your way to fitness via a groovy soundtrack. Shaking your body down to the ground is obviously thirsty work, so you can quench your thirst with a natural superfood-themed cocktail afterwards. Take a class to liven up your mid-week mindfulness, or try their boozy brunch with bottomless bellinis at the weekend.

2. DOGA

Sure, you may have dabbled in yoga, but the likelihood is, your pooch wasn’t invited. Doga is a quirky class where you’ll follow the usual stances, but with your dog in tow; bond with your canine friend through meditation, breathing exercises and some incredible doga poses. If you and your pooch are inseparable (or you just really, really love dogs), this one’s for you.

3. London Jungle Runners

If you’re over trekking to the gym, brave the great outdoors with a London Jungle Runner’s workout. It’s a kooky combo of dancing, running and working on your core, whilst journeying through the idyllic Highgate Woods. You needn’t worry about having Paula Radcliffe’s marathon tekkers, because they welcome all abilities; you’ll just need wired headphones that’ll tell you the moves, and appropriate clothing, obvs.

4. Klub Yoga Rehab Edition With Brunch And Grind

If your pending week in the sun wasn’t enough to motivate you to get fit, Klub Yoga’s rehab class definitely will. You’ll be greeted with a cup of cocoa and a fist of glitter on arrival, before getting involved in a fun class that’ll have you bending and bopping in sync to the music. Brunch and Grind will be providing a post-workout treat, and you’ll be sent on your merry way with a goodie bag packed with health-conscious delights.

5. At Your Beat Brunch Package

You can’t utter the words ‘dance-fit’ in London without someone mentioning At Your Beat, and luckily for you, they’ve got a pop-up space at White Space Studios in Leicester Square. Whether you can cut a rug like Beyoncé or you’re a complete novice, this endorphin-boosting class is guaranteed to leave you feeling like a queen. We all know queens need to eat, so W Hotel are offering you a way to refuel afterwards with a retox brunch package that’s complete with desserts, a cheese station and a smoothie bar. Feel like you’ve earnt something stronger? Add free-flowing bubbles.

6. Sunrise Yoga

If you’re a sucker for ticking off stunning locations across London, you’re gonna love everything about Sunrise Yoga. Located 36 floors above the city, you’ll be swooning over some incredible views, all while getting stuck into a meditative yoga class. After your workout, you can reward yourself with a dribble-worthy continental buffet breakfast in the beautiful Darwin Brasserie.

7. Fitness Singles Mixer

If you happen to be single and into quirky ways to get fit-as-a-fiddle, there’s a post-London Marathon charity fundraiser with your name written all over it. You’ll be greeted with a glass of prosecco, before you’re entered into the prize raffle think ice karting at Queens, Swingers crazy golf tickets and Sweaty Betty treats (as well as other incredible dining experiences). You’ll be rubbing shoulders with other like-minded fitness fanatics, and there’ll be an after party on their stunning roof terrace until late.
