From pancake freakshakes to stacks topped with gooey mac ‘n’ cheese, DesignMyNight have rounded up their favourite places for pancakes on Shrove Tuesday (or any day!) if you ever visit London…

The Breakfast Club

Make all your pancake dreams come true and head to The Breakfast Club. They’ve ditched traditional toppings to bring you four wonderfully-sugary stacks – just be sure to wear your stretchy pants. They have nine venues spread across London and if you visit one of their cafes after 5pm between the 20th and the 27th, you can get any one of these specials, plus a beer, wine, cocktail or soft drink for just £10. Winner winner pancake dinner.

Queen of Hoxton

If you want pancakes that are (literally) on another level, visit the Queen of Hoxton’s rooftop pop-up, Skye Halla. They’re hosting a six-hour pancake party and there will be plenty of pretty pancakes to leave you and your tummy content. If you want our advice, go for their mac ‘n’ cheese monster. You won’t regret it.

The Book Club

If there’s one thing better than pancakes, it’s pancakes and booze. Luckily for you, The Book Club have combined the two. Take a trip to their Shoreditch plot and fill your belly with their pina colada stack or if you want a meatier option, get down and dirty with their pulled pork option.

Burdock

If you haven’t slurped a freakshake yet, what have you been doing?! See the error of your ways immediately and stroll down to Burdock on the 28th. They have a pancake freakshake with your name written all over it. Their calorific masterpiece is blended with creamy New York cheesecake and cookie dough with three soft berry pancakes plonked on top for good measure. Heaven.

No.197 Chiswick Fire Station

If you happen to be around West London on the 28th, call in and see No. 197 Chiswick Fire Station. It’s the prettiest brunch spot around and they’re serving three different types of pancakes. We recommend trying the smoked salmon pancakes with avocado and dill – super tasty and healthy.
