The Blitz Party, London’s best-loved and most authentic 1940s party, is back for a spectacular D-Day Special. Step back in time into an authentic air-raid shelter, complete with sandbags, hurricane lamps, reconnaissance maps and blackout curtains. Victory curled ladies and uniformed soldiers can expect a night of live music, classic cocktails and 40s-style revelry.

Live big bands will perform a repertoire of 40s classics and modern favourites remixed to resemble the style of the era, the perfect soundtrack for land girls and the home guard to cut a rug on the dance floor. 

DANCE CLASS IS NOW SOLD OUT, BUT THE BLITZ PARTY SQUADRON IS STILL RECRUITING. 

Uncover traitorous spy plots, trade on the black market and swing dance your way to victory at The Blitz Party D-Day Special. This year, be transported back in time to the height of the 2nd world war. The Blitz is in full swing and Londoners are living life on the edge, as each day could be their last.

By order of the war office you are to make your way to a secret London meeting point at 1900 hours sharp. After security clearance, you will receive your first instructions from your commanding officer. In this immersive Blitz Party adventure, you'll meet secret service contacts, engage with spies and work with your fellow comrades to recruit allies and overthrow the enemy.

This pre-party experience will last an hour in East London. Once you have completed your first mission, you will then make your way to our secret East London bunker for cocktails, swing dancing and true neighbourly spirit.

TICKETS + PRE-PARTY MISSION: £40

Bunker Opens 8pm (entertainment starts at 8.30pm)

Whilst we appreciate the need to "make do and mend" The Blitz Party operates a strict dress code. Denim may be acceptable in the munitions hall and trainers do squeak nicely in the gymnasium, but that is where they should remain.

Terms

1. The ticket holder voluntarily assumes all risks and danger incidental to the event for which the ticket is issued, whether occurring prior, during or after the event. The ticket holder voluntarily agrees that the management, venue, event participants, DesignMyNight (WFL Media Ltd) and all of their respective agents, officers, directors, owners and employers are expressly released by the ticket holder from any claims arising from such causes.
2. Tickets are issued subject to the rules and regulations of the venue.
3. Please check your tickets, as mistakes cannot always be rectified.
4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
8. Tickets are sold subject to the venue or promoter's right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
9. If this ticket is re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the promoter, venue management, DesignMyNight or one of their authorised sub-agents, it will become voidable and the holder may be
refused entry to or ejected from the venue.
10. The venue may operate a No Smoking Policy.
11. The promoter, venue management and DesignMyNight accept no responsibility for any personal property.
12. The event listed on the purchased ticket is strictly for ticket holders who are over 18 years of age. Identification may be required.

I had a great time BUT if you're going to hold an event with swing dancing please make water readily available for the dancers!! It was ridiculously hot inside and the queues to the bar were so long I felt like I was about to pass out from dehydration. I'm surprised no one did actually. Not very well thought out from that angle. The queue to the female toilet was unacceptable too. However having said that I still had a good time. Last year was a better arranged venue with great blitz decorations, this year there were many more people than the previous year and it was very hot and crowded. There was not the same look and authentic feel as the previous event - pretty disappointed. visited Studio Spaces on 03 Jun 2017

Nothing wow about it. Cocktails tested different every time. Food was bad bad bad. Singers were ok. But no more than that, I was expecting a real experience with actors and waiters or other people you could interact with... just a thought visited Studio Spaces on 03 Jun 2017

It was like stepping back in time. Decor, atmosphere, music was amazing. I would recommend it to anybody, and some amazing dancers as well. Unfortuanately, due to the tragic terroris attack, we left early, otherwise I would have been there until closure. Monica visited Studio Spaces on 03 Jun 2017

The atmosphere was fantastic! The Decor was brilliant. It felt like we had been totally transported back in time. If it weren't for people getting out their mobile phones, I would have thought we were in the 40's. The drinks were overpriced, the staff inside the venue were great fun. However the staff outside the venue who greeted us were not the most accommodating and pleasant faces. Unfortunately we had to cut our losses short due to the terrorist attack by London Bridge that evening and sadly leave early, otherwise we would have stayed till closure. Overall, great location, great music!, great dancing! fabulous decor and costumes, drinks overpriced and some staff were concerning. The event was really good and it truly fealt like we had gone back in time and landed in the 1940's the live band and the singers were really great! However a few things that could've been better would be the aircon in the facility, it was so hot in there it was hard not to sweat even when standing still! Great themed party, great music and a bonus that there are extra toilets for girls. Unfortunately the queue for drinks at times was quite long and there was quite a bit of time between bands/singers - however overall it was a great night out. visited Studio Spaces on 03 Jun 2017

I was somehow expecting a bit more , maybe with the professional dancers to offer to dance more with participants and also the decors were quite minimal.The bands were great though! Amazing night! Well thought out and with a great atmosphere! Only thing I might suggest if anything would be to not allow drinks in the dance floor... that puppy got really slippy really quick! Such a great night! Brilliant atmosphere with everyone making such an effort to dress up and get really involved with the theme. Fantastic night! So well organised and beautifully laid out. The pro dancers/teachers were fun, helpful, and really added an air of authenticity. Attendees made a lot of effort and everyone looked incredible. Also the live music was great, and we really had a rip roaring time! ticket is far far too expensive for what it offers, bars too small. music is brilliant but like 1% of the crowd can dance it. Make it more swing dance friendly since there is no other entertainment. visited Studio Spaces on 03 Jun 2017

Absolutely amazing, and so much fun. Everyone that went really got into the spirit of the whole thing, and the music and entertainment was brilliant. If the air conditioning had been better I would have given 5 stars. Great event but kept having to go outside to cool down and I know a number of other people had the same issue, because of the theme we were wearing thicker materials, hat's etc. visited Studio Spaces on 03 Jun 2017

The dance lesson at the start was good fun and well orchestrated. The decorations inside were great. Love that you could get your hair and make-up done inside. Drinks were OK although a bit costly for what they were. Live band was amazing! The music, dancing, cocktails & decor was brilliant. A fantastic night with everyone dressed up & having fun. The lack of women's toilets & having to go outside down the street to a portable toilet was poor. Had a great time overall. The music, dancing and venue added to a real 1940's vibe. I went on the pre party mission which wasn't good value for money. It was just a bit of role play and a walk down the road, I was expecting so much more from the description, it was very disappointing. The organisation was a bit poor too, different times on the ticket to the last minute email so we ended up getting there an hour early as did others. My name wasn't on the list for the party either although I'd booked months before. The que for the bar was ridiculous and the cocktails a total waste of money, there was hardly any alcohol in them and mainly ice. But I'll end on a positive, the actual party was great and everyone made such an effort to dress up. Had a great evening. I do think however it needed to be organised a bit better.
