What once was Vertu, is now Button Factory, as the original Frederick Street location goes back to its historic, brick-bare bones with a restaurant and bar twist.

Host to new interiors that pay homage to the building's original awnings with a New York edge, The Button Factory not only re-evaluate the space while maintaining the sun-trap balcony, they're serving up a roster of brunch, cocktails and fine fare from a Robata grill.

Great interior design and good staff which is really important. The food was fantastic and the menu a sensible size in terms of choice. Only complaint is pint of IPA was £5.90.... That is far, far too expensive. visited The Button Factory on 02 Jun 2017

We were really pleased with the party we had at Button Factory. The food was amazing and there was something for everyone. All the staff were really proactive and looked after us really well. It was a nursing reunion after 25 years. Had a wonderful table where we could all see each other. Food was fantastic and also the service! Prices were also very reasonable. Will definitely return visited The Button Factory on 13 May 2017

I was disappointed as it was my Sons birthday and as I booked in advance and requested the terrace for our table to be told that on arrival that we couldn't dine on the terrace as it was full, why wasn't a table reserved for us or why was I not told before hand that this was not possible. The restaurant was not full to capacity yet I was given the wrong meal(which was changed) and my sisters meal was completely missed, she did eventually get her bream and it was removed from the bill but we had all near enough finished our meals. We also had to ask the waitress on three occasions for an additional jug of gravy which again by the time it came we had almost finished eating. All that said the staff were lovely it was just a shame that my sons birthday meal was a bit muddled when it came to dining. Would love to leave a review of this restaurant but no-one confirmed our booking. We used the online booking system which reassured us someone would call us back (and that our booking wasn't confirmed until they do) - but nobody did and their phone was always busy. Went somewhere else and had a great night. Shame it wasn't here. Our initial table that was reserved for us was cramped, but we were able to move to larger one when another group did not arrive. The service needs improving as at times it was slow and things were missed. The food was generally good, however disappointed with the portion sizes, there could have been more meat. Five Stars for The Button Factory. Lovely surroundings, excellent food, friendly staff but for me the best and most important part was I could bring my puppy Walter to the Restaurant where they welcomed him with fuss and water. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Ed was very helpful in giving advise and support in my booking. The only criticism I would have is how cold upstairs was- particularly the bathrooms. It was so cold that people were getting goosebumps! visited The Button Factory on 04 Mar 2017

Went there for a brunch but we couldn't eat our food, especially not with processco. The food was very greasy it, made us feel ill, but maybe just because it wasnt our'cup of tea'. Staff are lovely however and has a nice atmosphere. visited The Button Factory on 04 Mar 2017

We held a party in the upstairs area for around 40 people ranging from 30-45 years old and everyone enjoyed it. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. It was a Saturday night and the music was really lively and kept the atmosphere happy with a selection of motown, funk and disco. to be honest, i left feeling distinctly underwhelmed - the restaurant felt like a bit of an afterthought to the bar area; when we got there for a family dinner on a Friday at 7pm the level of noise was such that we couldn't really converse comfortably. However, to give credit where credit is due, they did turn the music down when i asked. The menu ticked all the "hipster" boxes, but was pretty unremarkable (wings so overcooked that they fell apart on touch) and some of the portions felt pretty mean (calamari and lamb shish). By far the best starter was the n'duja croquettes which actually delivered the promised punch of spice and heat. On the mains my lamb was overcooked despite asking for it as "rare as chef would allow" and did not deliver on the promise of cumin and zatar. I should also say that service was very good throughout, but at £40 per head (including drinks) i would have hoped for (and was expecting) something better to be honest. visited The Button Factory on 17 Feb 2017

We had a fantastic night at the button factory. We booked a space upstairs for a private party and everything worked out brilliantly. The space was great with tables reserved, and a refundable deposit which made the booking the best option compared to many other places we had contacted. It was my husbands birthday meal. Before we both ordered the steak dish he spoke with the chef as he was sure what cut of the meat it was. He had asured him that it wasn't fatty! My husband sent his plate back and we went to a different restaurant. I think maybe more options on the menu would be helpful. Not a great experience. Went for Sunday Lunch yesterday my son and his family joined me, food , service, hospitality all beyond reproach, nothing was to much trouble. Had shoulder of lamb for 3 and would recommend to anybody with a large appetite. Keep up the good work. bkn visited The Button Factory on 11 Sep 2016

Amazing food, great venue and lovely staff. Couldn't recommend this place more! We had the lamb for Sunday lunch and it was perfectly cooked and so tasty. Lovely mock tails and homemade cordials and good choice of craft beers. A fab addition to the jewellery quarter :)

The team have done a great job of refurbish. The venue is split over three floors so there's plenty of choice of spaces to hang out. Good range of spirits and drinks on offer. The outside rooftop space is awesome and plenty of heaters means you can stay up there late into the night without getting chilly
