Storming with the success of their Hoxton pop-up, The Dolls House adopt a dose of more concrete inspired cavorting as they take the reigns of what once was Islington's House of Wolf; transforming it into not only a lovingly hushed replica of their Hoxton kick-off, but a whimsical three floors of fun.

Playful and proud, the continued 'Roald Dahl-esque charm' finds a home in three Islington floors. Boasting signature illustrations and a lush neutral palate with flecks of colour, The Dolls House is split between the ground floor Parlour, 2nd floor Library and Dining Room, and a 3rd floor Ballroom.

Food is one of the main frolics to be enjoyed at The Dolls House, with a menu that correlates with the fantastically simple and charming interiors of the venue. Please your palate with the likes of 'pigs head croquettes with romesco', or 'Dead Dolls burger with fermented horseradish aioli, truffled pecorino & onion marmalade'. Not sure I've ever had such contrasting dishes !! The burger was so disappointing. Plenty of tasteless cheese, meat overcooked and no marrow butter. It so needed seasoning and a cheese with flavour. The wings on the other hand were absolutely amazing, some of the very best I've ever had !! Packed full of flavours, double cooked with an amazing crispy batter and the sauce was awesome. Only other comment would be that if your going to make your cocktails with cheap supermarket fruit juice (concentrate), don't do it in full view of the recipients. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 20 Jun 2017

The food was great! Probably the best chicken wings and burger I've had in a while! The only thing that had let the experience down was the club music that played during our dinner. There weren't that many people in the restaurant and it was just really noticeable. It just doesn't set the right mood while you are eating. All in all a good experience at Dead Dolls House. I made reservations for 3 ppl for dinner on a Fri night via email and that process was seamless. When we arrived I found the security unnecessarily aggressive, demanding to know why we were there and where we were sitting. I told him I had made dinner reservations for 8:30 and I did not know where I was sitting. He didn't want to let us in until I could tell him where we were seated...I didn't know how that would be possible if we hadn't gone in yet? The drinks were great (cocktails) and for the most part the food was good. Everyone enjoyed the burgers but I found the grilled calamari very tasteless and wouldn't order it again. We popped in on a Sunday for the bottomless brunch and had a really lovely time! A lovely chap welcomed us instantly at the door with a smile and took us to our table which was neatly set up for us. We opted for the 'All Dayer' and I went for a DIY with delish avo on sourbread with side of bacon and sausage. The sausage was particularly good and you could tell it was of high quality. I had the Mimosas and my date had the Bloody Mary's but we soon swapped because the BM was one of the best I've had. The Dolls House is a fave for me on a night out, it's a load of fun although I have to admit in the light of day the venue is beginning to show a bit of wear and tear in the corners but with a lick of paint and some new upholstery the venue will continue to be one of the best places to come in East/North London :) Cara visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 31 Oct 2015

Really poor service. It wasn't overly busy when we arrived but it took 20 minutes to get our first drink and then a wait of 20 mins between the next one. A waitress came over, grabbed our plates and scurried off without even offering us another drink. Bottomless drinks for 2 hours but we only managed to get 3! Unfortunatley my experience at this venue wasnt the best. I had booked a brunch for me and my partner, thinking the bottomless option would be a great idea for a date. I was wrong. I dont think this was advertised as so, the mimosa I was looking forward was a whole carton of organge juice and a splash of prosecco. I do like a bit of orange juice from time to time but not a whole carton so this was unfortunate. The food was mediocre at best, it looked so promising on the menu but in reality it wasnt even avergage, luke warm, unseasoned and underwhelming for the price. Whe the staff did decide to stop polishing glasses come from around the bar it was never to check in on our table but just to clear our plates. Im all for being left to when you have a jug of drink in front of you but a little bit of attention never goes a miss, no one checked on our food, no one asked if we wanted anything else after. The venue its self wasnt at all what I had imagined, it was grubby and unkept. The attempt at artwork on the bar was half finished, it appeared as though no effort has been made to keep this lovely building looking fresh. Freezing cold due to the aircon being on full blast (It was a warm day but we left feeling frozen) Lastly, and this was something that really tipped it for me was the tables. These gorgeous gold brassy tables. Super shiny, had been cleaned which was great but obviously with some kind of brass cleaning product which hadnt been removed properly. I had spent my time here leaning over said table and said product whilst talking with my partner as she did with me. I leaned back toward the end to discover my brand new pastel colour top had these big black streaks over it where clearly the product hadnt been cleaned of the edges of the table. Im not one to moan about clothes being tarnished but had I been going out for the whole day I would have been really pissed off! Luckly I was off straight home so could bang my top in the wash. My partners jumper was also covered in this white chaly stuff which was obviously this undentifyable cleaning product. I dont like complaining, I never do it. I had mentioned to the waitress about the table and she apologised profusly. I just feel like you should know that this place is not what it cracked up be, and my standard are in no way high. Overall disappointing. We waited 45 minutes for food with no apology when it actually arrived. Food was nice but overpriced for portion sizes, particularly the avocado and toast (half a slice) and it was £4 to add one slice of bacon. Good service and the bottomless mimosas were great and they were very attentive to refills. My friends had the salmon and pancake was was apparently tasty. I had the baked eggs which were a bit wet/watery. In the day you notice that the venue could do with a lick of paint/ a refirb as it does look quite shabby in the light!! Which made it seem less clean than it probably was. I'd only been in the evening before. Unfortunately we had a very poor experience at the dead dolls house last weekend. Here's a quick recap: Once arrived, we asked for freshly squeezed orange juice, but what we got instead was very cheap orange juice - we could tell it was not freshly squeezed, just by looking at it! So we gave it back. We actually saw cartons of orange juices at the bar - with the price label very big on it - 85P! No wonder the juice we got tasted that bad? (I had a sip to try it out) Definitely not a great start of your brunch! We then had to wait for over 35 minutes for our food - the place didn't look busy, so the wait for longer than expected. We were so hungry that we asked if it was possible for us to have some bread in the meantime - but that didn't happen. I actually enjoyed the food when it finally arrived, although I thought the portion was pretty small for a £15 full english breakfast? (called 'all dayer') The bread that came with it was tiny so we asked for more (on this occasion, they brought it to us very quickly I have to say). Also - my friend asked for some bacon on a separate plate, and it arrived with maple syrup - which was not written on the menu (as you would expect to see?) so again we had to bring it back. Few more details - salt and pepper was not on the table - again we had to ask for it. Lastly, my friend asked for a cup of tea. When it arrived, she realised that there was a stain of pink lipstick on the cup - very bad! At that point she brought it back and we asked for the bill. I have to say that when we left they apologized for the service that we have received - and we appreciated the gesture. Shame as also the place itself looks very pretty. My friends and I read a review on the dead dolls house and thought it looked great so went for brunch. Overall though we came out feeling rather dissatisfied with big the food and experience. The food was average and after complaining about the cold eggs once we couldn't be bothered to complain the second time when they came back cold. Good value for money as we had Time Out vouchers and the food was OK but the service was really bad, we got ignored a lot and our order was completely wrong. Our waitress seemed like she must be on a trial shift or something as she was completely useless. The other staff were more helpful but only after we kept getting up from our table to ask them for things. The mimosas were mainly orange juice and were too sweet, despite us asking repeatedly for them to have less orange juice in. Overall I would not recommend this venue for brunch. Wasn't overly impressed with the dead dolls house for our bottomless brunch. We booked two months in advance for 5 people and got stuck at a very small table and they were unable to accommodate us elsewhere. Our chairs were also wet as they had been outside. The food was average and our bottomless mimosas initially started off as mainly orange juice! visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 21 May 2017

I went to bottomless brunch on Saturday and had a fantastic time! This was my first visit to the Dolls House and I will certainly be back. The food was great I had the chicken waffles and bloody mary's to wash it down - best I have had in a long time! Slightly over priced food for a menu that was a relatively typical brunch menu and nothing special in terms of quality in comparison to other restaurants in the area. There were also a high number of staff but they were not particularly attentive with side dishes not coming until the meal was almost finished and hard to catch anyone's attention without calling out to them. My food was really nice and the staff were really friendly. Three of us were having brunch but only two meals arrived, which meant two of us had finished our meals before our friend. When the final meal arrived (baked eggs &beans) it was very dry and had been sitting over a heat lamp for a while. Probably the worst brunch I've ever been to. The mimosas were massively watered down with the orange juice, even from the first serving. And, we were sat right by the bar so could see the ratios they were pouring, it was like 80:20! The food was delicious but the baked eggs were overcooked. The staff were polite at first but got a bit rude towards the end when we asked for more refills - got the feeling none of them really wanted to be there. Tis a shame because it is a local of mine and would have loved to come back in the evening one night, but after the service I got I won't be returning unfortunately. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 14 May 2017

The staff were really attentive and there was no shortage of Mimosas. Sadly we spotted the chef walking in with a bag from budgens which is where the waffles were from... i wouldnt had minded had they been really good waffles.. but they werent. Honestly your service was still bad even though our table must have be caveats with 'reason for booking 'bad experience previously'. The bar staff and slow and falling over one another plus we had to do to get table service. Food quality was only average visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 05 May 2017

As we were such a large group, we had been asked to pre-order our food. 20 minutes after arriving, we were asked if we would like to order, we told them we had pre-ordered. 10 minutes after that, we were asked again if we would like to order, to which we said the same thing and got 'Oh yes, you did tell me that' as a response, before walking off, no apology. Aside from this, the service was generally slow (10 minutes for a coffee) and the waitress was incredibly rude when telling us that they needed the table back 'in 10 minutes so can you go?' - without giving us an alternative to go to the bar to finish our drinks (until we asked). visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 06 May 2017

We had an excellent experience at the Dead Dolls House. No easy feat trying to coordinate and accommodate a large-party baby shower, but the staff were incredible, friendly and attentive. Great venue, the Library Room was just what we wanted and really appreciated everything they did to keep our guests happy. Will be back again someday soon. I made a dinner reservation for my birthday for Sunday 30th April however when I turned up at the restaurant I was horrified to discover it looked completely different to what's been advertised. It was totally run down and completely disorganised. We have to wait a few minutes to be seen to by someone who told us she couldn't find the booking on her system even though I had an email confirmation of it. She just apologised and told us she didn't have a table to offer us. To be honest upon seeing the place I couldn't wait to get out!!! Awful place.....avoid at all cost

I booked a bottomless brunch for my partners birthday and was more than disappointed with my visit to the Dead Dolls House. We were ignored as soon as we arrived and found our table with my name on it ourselves. The table was right by the main door which resulted in a practically freezing copper table. When asking to move we were told it was fully booked and it would not be possible, only to ask another waiter who agreed it would be perfectly fine. I specifically picked this restaurant for the menu as my partner does not like typical brunch options. He ordered the buttermilk chicken with waffles but was told abruptly they had ran out. Shortly after our food arrived the table sat next to us received the buttermilk chicken and waffles! The mimomas also had little fizz (minimal prosecco) and the portion sizes were a little pitiful. I was genuinely looking forward to visiting the Dead Dolls House but will definitely not be returning. I book the bottomless brunch for 17 people for my 30th. And was really disappointed, the venue set up the table only for 16 and one of my friends had to squeeze on. They had run out of chicken so most of my friends couldn't order what they wanted. The bottomless mimosas was basically two little jugs of what tasted like orange juice with a splash of something fizzy on the table to share between us all which we had to keep asking them to refill. We asked if they could provide more jugs to be told that they had run out so we ended up telling them to take our water jugs but then still only got three jugs (barely one glass each). I also asked if they could put less orange juice in the mimosas but was told they were not allowed. I ended up ordering two bottles of prosecco so my friends could top up their orange juice. We all pretty much order a burger due to no chicken which was really over cooked and way too salty. My friend asked for butter 3 times to butter her side of bread and it never arrived. When the bill come they had not taken of my deposit so I had to ask them. They had added a £70 service charge on the bill which we didn't pay as the service we received was shocking. Service was awful, we waited over 20 mins before being acknowledged. Had to ask several times before we could order. Mimosas were mainly orange juice and very disappointing. Such a disappointment we didn't even stay for the full 2 hours. Had to wait to be seated, had to ask for menus, had to chase to order and start the drinks, waited ages to order despite asking them waited longer. Service very slow, staff not very attentive or helpful. When my guest and I arrived none of us were seated at our table. We weren't offered any drinks or asked for our food order until we prompted them on several occasions. They ran out of waffles which was the sole reason we had made the reservation. Loved it! I celebrated my birthday here in the Library room. We had a lovely bottomless brunch. Enough food and drinks. Only the chicken wafels could have used some salad or something. Even though the food timings were all off as they were exceptionally busy and we had to wait ages for the food the place wad fantastic and the staff couldn't do more for us and was really helpful! Unfortunately we really didn't enjoy our visit to The Dead Dolls House for bottomless brunch. We had booked this brunch through Timeout to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Having been seated by a member of staff, within 20 minutes were moved to make room for a large group that didn’t even arrive for the duration of our visit. Despite confirming our voucher information multiple times over email a member of staff interrupted our visit to ask for the voucher information twice (which is especially unreasonable considering I’d been clear this experience was a birthday present). All of us tried different dishes but across the board the food was wholly underwhelming, portions were small (with a side of bacon looking more like two lardons) and nobody came and asked if everything was ok with our food. In fact, once our food had been served, it felt as though we no longer existed in the restaurant at all. I had emailed the venue a few weeks ahead of our booking and asked if there was anything special at all they could do for my friend’s birthday, whether I could arrange a small dessert to be served to her, something small but making her visit more special than a standard visit. I was really saddened that my email was totally ignored and on the day of our visit, not one member of staff raised this with us let alone asked us if we’d like to order anything else after we’d finished our brunch. Maybe we were given slightly sub-par treatment because we’d booked our visit using a Timeout deal, I don’t know but one thing is for sure, we felt unimportant during our visit. Such a shame as I’d been so looking forward to vising The Dead Dolls House and a special occasion calls for a bottomless brunch, in retrospect just not this specific bottomless brunch. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 23 Apr 2017

Dead Dolls House was fantastic! Our server was lovely and even though we were using a Time Out offer the bottomless mimosa jugs were always speedily refilled. Went for the bottomless brunch on Saturday with a Time Out offer and had a mixed experience. All three of us ordered the chicken and waffles and were really disappointed with the food - the chicken was inedible and both that and the waffles were clearly reheated. Came with one tiny chunk of overcooked bacon and the toasted sourdough side was cold and unappetising. The other options that I saw being delivered to other tables looked a lot nicer - wish I had opted for one of those. I ordered a flat white and it arrived as a black coffee with frothed milk - when I questioned it I was told: 'that's how we make them here'. Other than that the staff (apart from one - see below) were friendly and attentive - the bottomless mimosa was always refilled before we reached the bottom. The long-haired guy working front of house was a little rude - we tried to order some drinks with him and he told us to ask one of his colleagues but didn't make any effort to alert any of them that we were looking for assistance. Lots of positives and a few negatives - Positives - Very generous with the brunch drinks Lovely venue Nice atmosphere Very reasonably priced Negatives - Took 15 minutes before anyone came and offered drinks Table was laid out weirdly, had to change it in order for everyone to see each other Food wasn't amazing, had to preorder from a smaller menu than the one we saw on the tables when we arrived. Good atmosphere and worth a visit if you're in the area. We went for bottomless brunch, which was nice, but the food was quite dry and my friend who had the bloody Marys had to keep asking for a new glass. Also, thought the food was slightly overpriced! We had a fantastic experience for our wedding day! we were greeted by a lovely sign outside with our names on it and a big congratulations. We found the staff to be really helpful esp Emily the organiser who went out of her way to make the big day special. We had our event upstairs in the ballroom and it was lovely. the place was decked out really nicely and the food was really good and plentiful! No problem with accommodating a gluten free guest either. So if you want a stress free event at a cool non-pretentious venue then I would choose the dead dolls house for your wedding/event for sure visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 16 Mar 2017

I recently threw my wife a baby shower in the drawing room and it went really well. Emily was really helpful during planning, and everything was prepared as discussed before. The bartender we had dedicated to the room was a star. She was super helpful and readily avalable to take orders. The food was amazing, we mostly enjoyed the chicken and waffles. Prices are reasonable and location is convenient as well. Parking was available down the road, and street parking on the side roads after 1:30pm. This second visit to the restaurant was excellent, and well-organised. We had a Bottomless Brunch option with 5 of us. The service was fast, the very good food, and drinks always topped up. Even though we had finished our food within the first 1hr 15m (for a 2 hour turn around), our drinks continued to flow well after eating. We had an amazing time at my sisters' bridal shower at Dead Dolls! She absolutely loved it. We all did! The food was great and the staff were lovely. Zara, Nadine and another gentleman working with Zara in the room (apologies we did not catch his name!) were all so lovely. There was a delay on Upper Street the morning we went and I felt like everyone dealt with it marvelously! Nadine informed me straight away and pushed the booking back by an hour to accommodate us. Zara and the gentlemen were great, really friendly and just overall lovely customer service from them both! We had the Drawing room which is a great space and there was around 20 of us. Food was great, barman was great on his own serving 20 people. Sound system was awful, dodgy cable which muffled and cut the sound. Room was like a sauna as the heater was on and couldn't be switch off until they realised you could from the mains. I definitely wouldn't recommend the Dead Dolls for a private party. We booked the Ballroom for our engagement party. We had around 60 guests attending so assumed we'd easily reach the £3000 minimum especially as we put £300 behind the bar ourselves. Unfortunately there was only one bartender for most of the night so our guests got really fed up of queuing for such a long time each time they wanted a drink. Most people ended up going downstairs to get their drinks as it was quicker and they had a better drink selection. One guest said they had no vodka for about half an hour so she went to another bar. At the end of the night I was told we would lose £900 from our deposit to make up the minimum spend! I explained that guests had spent lots on the other bars due to the slow bar service but unfortunately this wasn't taken into account. We were obviously very upset as this is a huge amount of money to lose and has come straight out of our wedding budget. Be very careful if you book here for a party. It's impossible to stop your guests going to the other bars to get served faster and will result in you ending up with a huge chunk of your deposit gone. Was given a great window booth and a complimentary bottle of prosecco for a surprise birthday brunch! Fab day/evening spent with a group of girlfriends for my special birthday. Staff very attentive and accommodated where possible with all that we asked for. Would definitely recommend to others and am sure most of us will be returning at some time soon. The security was ver aggressive. I mistakenly approached with a drink in hand (from across the road where is been performing) and he wouldn't let me in. I understand him being worried about the CCTV camera and him losing his licence but it seemed very unreasonable to be completely banned. Then when he manager finally let me in (to my own aftershow drinks) I tried my best to be friendly to him but he continues to be very rude. Very well decked out venue with consistent theme running through. We had a big party of 12, and went for the Bottomless Brunch. Service was unfortunately slow, and when you have 2 hour window for bottomless drinks, you want to be sure that your drink will be topped up (or have enough on the table). It was clear that the jugs of Mimosa's were inconsistent in their strength, with the last jug tasting only like orange juice. The staff were friendly, but very disorganised. They wanted to do their best, but it was clear that whatever customer service processes they had, were simply not executed well enough: wrong food bought to our table, not enough drinks, steaks and burgers not cooked as specified, some food cold. The food that was bought out, was cooked to a high standard and on the whole, enjoyed. Great staff, really attentive. We had a wedding menu taster and it was really lovely, lots of food to try and we really enjoyed it so we have booked our wedding here. The whole process was made really easy which took the stress out for us! Emily the planner was really helpful with ideas and organising. All in all a great night at The Dead Dolls house. However, the staff could have managed our experience significantly better on a few occasions. We were a big group (18) at a small table (10) due to a late booking, which was in itself not an issue since it was expected. The staff was kind enough to give us extra chairs and we managed to squeeze in somehow. However, we had pre-ordered platters and finger food for 18 and when they started coming out, you can imagine the mess that was our table for 10 with all the food on it. It was pretty obvious that we could have had the food come out in stages, especially since most dishes were repeated twice. Instead, waiters kept bringing more and more dishes and piling them on top of others until people had no room in front of them to place their plates. It was comical but also very embarrassing for me. The food was delicious and we ate almost everything so the amount was clearly right for 18, but the whole dinner experience was ruined by the mess and I think some people felt like they had to eat very quickly to open up space. I have to say, I was very disappointed with our booking at The Dolls House on Saturday. We were a group of 12 (booked for 13) and I'd booked a number of weeks in advance. Firstly, I had pre-ordered the food for 12 people, with the 13th (being the bride, and for whom the day was a surprise) ordering on the day. Between arriving and getting our meals, over an hour passed. This is simply not good enough - by any standards, let alone considering we had ordered in advance and were only having one course. Having to pre-order anyway is never ideal but I would say that the return for that should be efficient service, at the very least. I will point out here that we were given a free bottle of prosecco as a token gesture, but between 12 people that doesn't exactly go very far. Secondly, even when the food was brought out, there were lengthy time gaps between all members of the group being served, meaning that plates were getting cold. All food should always be brought together - not over a timespan of 5-10 minutes. Further, some of the food brought out was incorrect. There was a burger without bacon (totally not specified on my disk), missing items, and then an additional order of gluten-free bread with eggs, which we hadn't even ordered. Not really sure how that even happened as my spreadsheet couldn't have been clearer. Also, I had emailed the day before the booking to say that the 13th person could no longer come, and I gave her menu choices as what was to be removed from the booking. These items were still brought to us on the day, and when I questioned it, I was told that as we'd ordered it, we would to have them. I admit that I did wonder if that was policy, but it makes me very reluctant in the future ever to pre-order because I see that as doing the restaurant a favour and quite clearly puts the customer at a disadvantage at times like these. I also have to say that a lot of the food was disappointing. The burger was nice, but the avocado on toast was brown and looked incredibly poor - it was actually welcomed with shock when I said it cost £9. Also, I don't recall there being any 'lemon and chilli' on it. For £9, you certainly expect more. It sounds like a small point but it just got to the stage where everything was a bit of a letdown. I didn't want to make a scene on the day as it was a hen party and I didn't want to kill the mood, but I did explain my concerns in minor detail to the waitress. The service charge was then knocked off the bill, which I would have expected at the very least. Overall, I have to say that I won't be recommending the place and I am really disappointed as I thought I had found a real gem. Thanks for listening. Really great food and brilliant venue but the service left a lot to be desired . The waiting staff didn't seem to have a clue ( expect to wait an hour for a glass of wine , and to then not get what you ordered ) and so many complications with reserving a table / deposits . One member of staff suggested I get a voucher rather than have my deposit for the table back , very odd and annoying for everyone when you just want to get your deposit back and pay the bill . Labrinyth night was suuuuuuch good fun we loved it! Event organisers created such a great atmosphere with the little extras like the photo booth and games.

We were 23 people for dinner, the tables were laid out great and the food served as a sharing feast was plentiful and tasty. After the dinner the friendly staff cleared away the tables, and set up so more guests could arrive – at most we were about 40 people and that was great for the size of the room. The private bar (and bartender) meant no waiting to order drinks and the selection was a wide range that pleased everyone. Playing our own music was great, and as the night progressed everyone got their requests in and ended up on the dance floor. Being able to stay in the same place for dinner, drinks and dancing was exactly what I wanted and exactly what I got. Very helpful and friendly staff. We hosted an amazing event at the venue which was well received by all. Unfortunately the food was of very poor quality and their kitchen is clearly not well equipped to host a large sit down dinner for over 50 people. Overall had a really fun night but unfortunately the food was really average, for £45 a head we were expecting something a bit tastier but most people felt the food was not great. I was a little disappointed at the beginning as i had a large group and had booked a table however it wasn't ready for 20 minutes so we had to waiting by the bar. The bar was very busy and lots of people were trying to maneuver past which was a bit stressful. We had our xmas party for 30 people up in the ballroom on saturday. It was a huge success. Emily was amazing in the lead up to the party and was super helpful with all the organisation and pre-orders. On arrival I could see all our notes printed out and ready to go and Monica and the bar team knew everything we needed and were so helpful throughout the night. The space was private and beautiful, food was punctual and the sound system worked really well (we plugged in an ipad). 1. You promised to have music (DJ?) and 2 more groups downstairs - there was neither a DJ nor were there any groups downstairs so we had to stay in our room for the whole evening 2. Wifi didn't work so we had no music upstairs, we had to use a phone on 3G to play with spotify 3 The food was to be honest nothing special and we would have expected much more for the per person cost 4. We asked for a projector but the screen didn't fit properly on the wall - it was not hanging straight and couldn't be fixed 5. We had to chase for wines and water on the table upon arrival, as we booked an "all drinks package" we would have assumed that some would be set up - we have not been made aware that this was subject to pre-order! We had a brilliant Christmas lunch at The Dead Dolls House this year! I had wanted to book it for my team a few years ago when it was just a pop-up venue but timings didn't work out then. They are now in a permanent space on Upper Street (formerly the House of Wolf) which is creaky, quirky but characterful. When I first did a site visit in advance of booking, I was slightly nervous as it was a rainy Friday afternoon and if I'm honest, The Library seemed cold and soulless. Emily assured me that the space would be done up for our party and she definitely kept to her word! My team are lovely but can be a hard bunch to impress and every single colleague told me how much they loved the place. It really came to life with the Christmas decorations and beautifully laid table. We had our own bartender, Nadine, who also led a Master Cocktail Class. Nadine was brilliant - good natured and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. In fact, the whole team on the day couldn't do enough to make sure that we had a good experience. We arrived at 13.30 and despite only booking the room until 19.00, no one made any push to get us out - when I left at 20.00, there were still a few colleagues remaining. A big thanks to Emily who patiently dealt with all of my emails over the two months it took to organise this event, to Nadine who was a star on the day, and all of the staff who supported Nadine. Thank you for having us for our Christmas Party. We were in the Ballroom, which was beautiful and perfect for us. The staff were lovely and did a great job accommodating us throughout the evening. Overall was a really good afternoon. However, there was one waitress who seemed to be particularly difficult. She huffed and puffed at every request and then shouted 'Jesus christ' when one of the party asked for some mayonnaise. She claimed it had ran out but we had some on the table already. My suggestion would be if there was none to pop to the budgens not far away as I imagine that with lunch this was a usual request and to not be so rude when asking for something that wasn't unusual. Hi Had a wonderful night at The Dead Doll's House for a surprise 30th birthday event. We booked the far end of the ground floor for 40 people and were allowed to bring a cake and balloons etc. The Christmas decorations that were already up were amazing and gave a wonderfully glitzy Christmas vibe. I had my birthday drinks in the Dolls House last night and unfortunately I have to say that I wasn't particularly happy with the experience. I booked an 'area' for 20 people, but what we got were two small tables squashed against the staircase, big enough for maybe six people. We ended up just using the table as a place to dump our coats as it wasn't big enough for anything else. If I'd known this in advance, I wouldn't have proceeded with the booking. Of course I realise that Saturdays are busy, but bookings of this size shouldn't be taken if there isn't space to accommodate guests. I'm pretty sure that there was money left on the tab I paid in advance to book the area, so I'd like to have the remaining money refunded if possible. Alternatively, I'd like to at least have the balance saved as credit for me to use for brunch - something which I think you absolutely nail. Fantastic as always. Really looked after us throughout the whole booking process and on the night itself. Food was wonderful. Interesting and plenty of it, a dream combination. One of our party of 6 entered the venue at 10:50am not realising that it was not open yet. A member of staff told my friend to leave and come back in 10 minutes in an extremely rude manner. Needless to stay we didn't bother giving them our custom and had a lovely brunch somewhere else. visited The Dead Dolls House Islington on 03 Dec 2016

Friendly staff, fun evening. However, we were disappointed with the food. Chaotic, not enough of it and a little cold. Some of it was fairly indistinguishable. Table was also not big enough for us despite the room apparently being able to seat 20 (we were only 18). Wine oiled the evening well and we left happy. My guests and I received wonderful service from the girls at The Dead Dolls House! Emily was fantastic to deal with and setting up on the day was very relaxed. The table and the environment was amazing and the food divine. I would also like to thank Zara for being an absolute star and making everyone happy. Had a fabulous night on Saturday, celebrating my 50th with a group of friends. The experience was fantastic from beginning to end; Emily, the organiser, was helpful, friendly and professional throughout. The staff on the night couldn't have been more helpful and attentive and their friendliness and attention to detail all contributed to a fantastic night. My guests all commented on the excellent food and venue. Am recommending to everyone I know and will definitely be coming here again.
