Really lovely staff, quality music, brilliant drinks. For an independent bar, it does rreally well. Keep it mind that because it's independent, wait times for drinks might take a bit longer than competitors like Be At One. I had my 30th birthday in the basement area and it was fantastic, the staff were very helpful, they let me put decorations up and I felt like it was a great venue for a private party. Good music and overall a good place with great cocktails. Tammy visited Tequila Mockingbird Putney on 21 Apr 2017

The night was good until my friend was involved in a provoked altercation resulting in all 10 of us having to leave when he wasn't to blame. Considering it was my birthday and i had reserved an area and we caused no trouble at all through the night was poor from the management team to kick us all out. visited Tequila Mockingbird Putney on 01 Apr 2017

Amazing night had by all. Very well organised and accommodating for a big group considering it was a Friday night. Staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Bar man a little slow and was not made clear there was a service charge added to the bill. Music could have been a tad quieter upstairs as seats quite wide and a large table in the centre made it hard to hear. Really great Friday night out: cocktails were really tasty and really reasonable during the great happy hour from 5-9pm. Atmosphere was great, music was good too! I celebrated my 30th birthday at Tequila Mockingbird on Saturday in their Basement bar, which I hired out for 50 people. I was really impressed with the staff at the venue, the price of drinks (241 until 9pm!) and the music that was played. Overall, I had a really amazing night and I'm hugely grateful to the staff for making it happen - especially the guy on the bar downstairs, HUGELY impressed with his hard work! There are a couple things that stopped me from putting a 5* on my review; firstly, the Basement Bar was tiny! Definitely not enough space for 50 people, we were all crammed in and it got really hot and uncomfortable! This didn't ruin the night at all, but perhaps they could have given a bit of warning about the size of the space! Secondly, a few of my friends lost items that night (a coat, a scarf and a watch) and the staff weren't very friendly or helpful when they rang up to enquire. From the moment we arrived until we left at 2am we all had an amazing time. Music was great but more importantly so we're the staff, esp Hannah, who was always on hand and happy to deal with anything we asked. Will definitely be coming back. Top night at Tequila Mockingbird in the downstairs bar area which I privately booked out for my new years eve birthday party. Perfect size for a group of 40 with enough space to dance and also with your own bar so no need to queue with the masses upstairs. The bar manager was really accommodating of my food requests, guest arrival times and agreed for free entry to all of my guests on what was a ticketed new years eve night for the venue. I booked a table for my birthday and arrived 45mins late due to train issues. I tried to call to advise but there was no answer. Upon arrival I was told I no longer had a table reservation, despite booking the table for the entire evening. A bar man then said I could sit on the table upstairs until the party arrived...this party was over an hour late... clearly the table policy is inconsistent! The barman who served us was excellent and we managed to keep the table in the end which made the night! When we got there it was so busy and sweaty as soon as you walked in the door, there was no- one to find our table and had to follow a lady who had a clipboard upstairs, she said our table was in the basement which when went down there was even worse than the other two floors and no table for us. I privately reserved the basement room for a joint birthday function, and all three of the hosts agreed that Tequila Mockingbird was the perfect place for our party! The room was the perfect size for us, clearly labelled as being privately booked, the music was really good all night and our bartender Mike was amazing! We had a brilliant night at Tequila Mockingbird. The venue was decorated for Halloween amazingly and set the mood for the event. Additionally the staff were immensely helpful, ensuring that our tricky tab situation was coordinated and served easily and quickly! Disappointing! Reserved a section for 20 people and it was tiny! There was no signs that the section was reserved so spent the entire night answering people's questions "is this table taken" . You would think that having a DJ meant you could request songs! But nope he wouldn't play anything apart from what the venue wants! Very disappointed. Upon arriving we were taken to our 'table' upstairs where there was a random assortment of sofas, none of which were arranged for the size of our pre booked party and had other people sitting in them. The man who showed us upatairs pointed to them and said we were to sit over there, indicating that we were to ask the people sat there to move, even though it was clearly not set up for us. We asked him to arrange our seats while we went to the bar where we stepped over someone else mopping up what smelt very much like sick... When we arrived back after getting our drinks, the sofas had been re arranged but now had other people sat in them and we were told to ask them to move. Very poorly managed and fairly smelly. Had an AMAZING evening! Great tasting cocktails, which you could actually taste the alcohol in ( not just full of fruit juice) The staff were so helpful, the atmosphere was awesome with great music! Went to celebrate a birthday, and Tequila Mockingbird did not disappoint! Will most definitely be going back and recommend to anyone who wants great drinks, music and a chilled atmosphere where you can sit and chat or get up and dance with a great DJ. I think given that it has to compete with so many other 'cocktail' bars or bars in general in Putney, Tequila Mockingbird doesn't do enough to set itself apart from the rest. I understand the length of time to be served in a new place during happy hour where it mostly sells cocktails due to the time it takes to make each one, but I don't understand why there was such minimal seating both upstairs and downstairs. The cocktails were great, prosecco was good and the staff was really nice ! We enjoyed the place !! I recommend this bar. We booked a table with a groupon and we could choose any drink on the menu :)

Fabulous barman and location !!However don't be fooled by the 'private area' basement bar booking. I booked the basement bar area for a surprise birthday party thinking we would have a private area for the evening and when it got to around 22:30 we had people who had been sent down by the manager from the main bar upstairs to our area. When I picked this up with manger, she told me that only the tables were for booking and not the area so don't be mislead by the adverting of 'private area with private bar'

You just happened to be allocated the basement bar for your group hence the room was opened up to the general public at midnight as we were very busy. Have been here a few times for drinks with friends! It is a little bit on the small side, however the cocktails are amazing and the service is also really great.
