Operation Red Rocket

A retro futuristic dining experience

The year is 1965. The race to the moon has been won and now the members of the international space community are recruiting astronauts to form the first colony on Mars. The USA, Russia, Japan and China have each chosen a brave adventurer for this incredible quest, but the little known British National Space Laboratory have yet to make their choice. This, courageous diners, is where you come in.

The Art of Dining invite you to step back into the past for a glimpse of an imagined tomorrow. Check into the Operation Red Rocket research lab and meet your host, the world renowned space engineer Professor June Cavendish, who will guide you through an evening of rigorous scientific testing and an epic international five-course menu that is out of this world.

Dehydrated wild garlic, asparagus, pea and broad bean broth with goats cheese

Cumin pork ribs with soft boiled tea eggs and Xi’an style potatoes

Russia
Honey cake with sour cream ice-cream and lightly pickled cherries

4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
8. Tickets are sold subject to the venue or promoter's right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
9. If this ticket is re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the promoter, venue management, DesignMyNight or one of their authorised sub-agents, it will become voidable and the holder may be
refused entry to or ejected from the venue.
10. The venue may operate a No Smoking Policy.
11. The promoter, venue management and DesignMyNight accept no responsibility for any personal property.
12. The event listed on the purchased ticket is strictly for ticket holders who are over 18 years of age. Identification may be required.

I would definitely recommend this event! The food was deeeeelicious and the whole concept was clever and super fun! Great entertainment and a smashing spacey soundtrack. Bravo!

Had such a laugh making space helmets out of tin foil and the whole mars mission set up was kitsch but great value. Food delicious, went home full and happy.

I thought the decoration of the community hall was ok though a little tacky and not that imaginative. Food was good for the most part (dessert was not a honey cake as advertised in the menu though - it was a biscuit) but I probably wouldn't go again full price. visited Rose Lipman Building on 12 May 2017

Operation Red Rocket was a blast! The food was very good and of a standard you would expect from a Moro trained Chef. The immersive experience was simple but effective - haven't had that much fun with tin foil since forever! Michelle visited Rose Lipman Building on 13 May 2017

It was an enjoyable evening and well executed but it lacked the polish of other immersive dining experiences that I have done in London. It was hard to forget that we were in a community hall. The interactive part was good old organised fun. The food was tasty but I wasn't blown away by it, and it was a little too dark to actually see what we were eating! The wine and cocktails were good, and the service was good too. If you haven't done something like this before you should check it out; if you have then it might fail to live up to expectation. visited Rose Lipman Building on 11 May 2017

Food was quite average and flowed oddly (fish based course after the main with lots of filling rice), but was overall ok. Service was a little pushy as they had so many long rows of tables to get through and a short time to do it, Props were a little cheap/rushed looking. The picture for advertising also had nothing to do with the event which was a little misleading (it definitely set different expectations in prop quality). If this had been priced in the £30 range i wouldn't bat an eye and say it's good value for a different type of evening but since it is set in the realms of Chambers of flavours pricing I was expecting much more for my money. Overall it was a good night, but I won't be recommending the spend to friends visited Rose Lipman Building on 13 May 2017

Disappointing. Food was cold/lukewarm - nothing particularly outstanding to make it worth the money. We left before dessert. Warm wine, cold food, distinct lack of entertainment. For almost £60 a head (for food/welcome cocktail) you could have a much, much better meal in a thousand different London restaurants. Don't waste your time or money, rubbish. If you want an immersive dining experience the Chamber of Flavours is a million times better. FIONA visited Rose Lipman Building on 06 May 2017

The food was excellent and more of the centrepiece than the gimmicks, but those were a really fun backdrop to enjoy a gourmet meal. Great value for money and the atmosphere was quirky without being too much. Only the pork ribs a tad ovecooked but otherwise can't fault the food and excellent cocktails and wine.
