Description

Something of specialists when it comes to inducing smiles and throwing huge group nights out, Flight Club is spreading its wings, expanding from its Shoreditch base and setting up shop in the Bloomsbury area. Promising frivolous fun and carefree games, the new venue will offer the same combination of classic cocktails, sharing plates and fun rounds of darts. 

The team behind Central London venue will play up the Victorian vibes of the building it is based in, filling the space with vintage furniture and building a carousel-themed bar. In true Flight Club style, the venue will boast 9 oches and all the accompanying electronic scoreboards that made the Shoreditch venue such a hit. 

Better still, the team of bartenders and chefs will keep you well fueled with their range of slushy cocktails and sharing plates. Think frozen margaritas, huge plates of fiery chicken and plenty of deep-fried treats.

The service and food was excellent. , I was a little disappointed that we weren't in the basement area as it was my friends 50th birthday and down there is much nicer, when I asked if we could be situated there I was told no. I didn't feel like the staff member would even try to help me so I left it and stayed on the first floor. Overall I enjoyed the experience and actually so did my guests but I think your food is over priced and your policy of a minimum spend makes the whole event quite expensive - I'm not sure on the day that I actually got the food I ordered, because for somewhere in the region of £300 - there didn't seem to be a great deal of it. Not great to be honest. I love Flightclub as I work above your finsbury square locatoin. I booked at your new bloomsbury location for a party of friends as I have been telling them about the place. However when I arrived with my friends I found that my booking had been moved back 6 weeks. The reason I believe it was put back was about 2 weeks before I enquired about what other dates maybe available as a couple of people had dropped out. As the date was 6 weeks away I didnt want it moved but without my knowledge it was moved anyway. This caused a lot of embarrasment for me and dissapointment for my guests. To be fair, the manager at bloomsbury was very good, understanding and apologetic. He bought us a free round of drinks and refunded my money. So here I am leaving a review of my visit when actually it didnt really happen. Hi guys We had an amazing time last Thursday at Flight Club. Barratt our Games Master was great and made sure everyone enjoyed themselves throughout the evening. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was for a surprise hen do and we had a lovely time. The food was delicious and came quickly. It was really fun! We didn't realise there was a bottom section, which we were able to extend our time and move downstairs to after a game or two. The service was really good and really fun - definitely, want to come back! I would recommend updating your initial web service - Im an experience designer and its quite frustrating to be able to request a time online when actually most of the night is booked out! Very enjoyable evening, and very well organised. The games and service where great and could not be faulted! The only down side was the one in Bloomsbury on Thursday, I think the air con was broken and it was extremely hot. That was the only minor downside on otherwise a great night! Quality day, returned later on for another go because it was such good fun. Ran up a massive tab and got pretty messy. Arrived ten minutes late and was told off (at least it felt like that). Then told quite strictly "we are v busy tonight" and that the ten minutes wouldn't be added back on to our time slot. Funny though as after we came off the okkie, surprise surprise, there was no next booking. Celebrated my birthday and totally loved it. Booked two hours originally and then ended up staying for another hour longer cos we were not ready to leave. The team at Flight Club were excellent at making sure me and my friends had a great time. They very clearly explained how all the games worked and were always there to help us if we got stuck. The waitresses were also great at ensuring everyone always had a drink. The food was also brought out slowly just as we had requested along with the birthday cake. Receiving a birthday card from Flight Club was also an excellent touch! Everyone had a great time and we will definitely be returning! Thanks to the whole team! My only complaint is that we weren't told at the time of booking about our table being upstairs, having seen downstairs we would have preferred to be down there. The darts was excellent, service very good, venue is lovely, but the selection of beer on tap is woeful. The IPA is really poor, and alongside it is a wide variety of bland, boring lagers. I’ve been collating feedback from everyone here, the whole department had a great time! Our Games’ Master and Host were both great and all the other staff were very attentive. We really liked the venue, music and general vibe of the place. There were a couple of recommendations: Firstly that after a couple of games it would’ve been good for everyone in the room to be randomly mixed so that you didn’t end up with the same group of people at each oche all night (until the final). Secondly there could have been more canapes, and it would’ve been better if the food came out faster – there seemed to be a big gap between the canapes and the pizza, and then the second wave of pizzas took ages. As the 1st wave were all meaty the vegetarians had to wait ages! Hi We all had a great time on Saturday night. Everything worked as planned and the staff were friendly and helpful. Couple of things to improve. 1 - No one came to discuss when or how much food to bring out and when or to confirm what my pre-order was. 2 - Serving staff were removing half full bottles of beer. I asked him what he was doing and he said he had seen it sitting there for a while. Whether or not that was true (which I doubt) just ask them concentrate on clearing the empties. 3 - I ordered an additional bucket of bottled beer during play and the waitress said that she couldn't do that without me providing a credit card to open a tab. I asked why I couldn't just pay cash - she said she needed a card. She went away and another waiter came over and I asked why I just couldn't pay cash - he said that was no problem and he bought over the beers which I settled in cash - so not sure why the first waitress had a problem. We had a great time on Wednesday, I've been to the other branch in Shoreditch twice before and always have the best time. The staff are great ensuring that any food/drink you want are brought to the Oche promptly and letting you know if there is the opportunity to extend your booking at the end. What a great start to our evening out.. There were 14 of us so 2 couldn't play each time (we were told of that at time of booking). It wasn't a problem the games were quick and fun. We were a little late to arrive, and whilst our host checked us into our booth at 1.15 we didnt realise our game play would finish at 2pm rather than an hour later at 2.15. It wasnt made clear to us that our game play would now only be 45 minutes long. It was quite quiet when I went, there were people at the bar, the atmosphere and decor is nice. There are 4 different types of games to play in darts, its quite interactive, and you see the scores/gameplay animations on a screen above so it doesn't get repetitive/boring. Really enjoyed it. My only complaint is that whenever I turned around, the lady by the till had a miserable face, even if bored she could have been looking elsewhere, so that faltered my smile each time. The Bloomsbury branch is much smaller than the flagship branch on worship street. I don't think it's suitable for big groups unless you get two oches next to each other. The Bloomsbury site is amazing - the staff are so friendly and make your time there very enjoyable! They were very welcoming and helped us decide on drinks and explained the experience really well. I was slightly disappointed when i arrived as i had hired an area which was supposed to fit 15 people, and was very small with only 1 screen. However all the staff were so so helpful and immediately reserved the table area next to us so we had much more room. the manager even came over to apologise and explain. after this we had an amazing evening!! This is a fantastic night out. Really good for groups and works out quite reasonable if there's a big group of you. Staff here were really helpful too and tried hard to accommodate our requests such as extending our darts session and some dietary requirements. I wasn't sure what to expect but as soon as we arrived staff were helpful and friendly and helped us get started. Staff came back on a number of occasions to check all was well. The venue is great, went for a team outing and everyone really enjoyed it. The service was a bit chaotic, I asked for the waitress to only offer soft drinks and wine on the tab and she kept asking if people wanted food, even though i had already pre-ordered food for the booking. Overall, great night. Good atmosphere, good food, friendly staff - and as a Flight Club first-timer and darts novice, surprisingly enjoyable!
