You might think of tapas, tequila and cocktails as a pretty formidable combination, and you’d be absolutely right to do so. Guests enjoy all three in equally delicious measure at El Patron, a fresh new Mexican restaurant and cocktail bar in the heart of Putney.
This is a really social affair made for gathering a group of mates together in delving deep into a tequila-heavy cocktail menu. The Scorpion and Escobar’s Secret are as quirky as their names might suggest, and slot in nicely with a punchy card worth checking out. Look out for their sharing cocktails if you’re prone to a party; they’re served in a piñata and ready for some stick!
There’s plenty for the foodie fan too. Tantalising tacos and bountiful burritos are lovingly created and cheerfully served, and there’s a vibrant entertainment and live music programme on offer here too.

Hi Annabel! Thank you for your comments! Everyone gets a little bit to carried away sometimes after a few tequilas! On Saturday night we politely asked you and your two female friends to move away from our band to ensure you didn't knock into them, at this point we had no intention of asking you to leave and wanted to ensure everyone was having a good time. However at this point you became verbally abusive towards our very polite door supervisor who was trying to explain this to you and for that reason you were asked to step outside so we could explain this in a calmer environment. Unfortunately you then became even more verbally aggressive to both a member of the bar team and the security team and for that reason the decision was made to refuse you re-entry to the venue. We never want to spoil the party for anyone, however we cannot tolerate members of our team been verbally abused.
