Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings is a Modern All-day Brasserie and Bar in Clerkenwell.

With varied eating and drinking spaces, welcoming service and all-day flexibility, Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings offers a creative hub for all those who enjoy the brand’s signature style, day and night. B&H Buildings offers the consistent quality and friendly service of a member’s club, but without any of the membership fees or contrived exclusivity.

Situated just off Exmouth Market, Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings features a large bar serving the brand’s famous cocktails, a 70-cover restaurant and greenhouse, a relaxed café area and characterful private rooms. Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings is the ideal venue for all your celebrations and functions, being the perfect size for a small-medium event and occasionally available for full private hire.

BELOW & HIDDEN

We have a soft spot for small, intimate basements. The history of nightlife is filled with legendary places no bigger than a living room. In such places, traditionally, there is nothing more than somewhere comfortable to sit, small tables, extremely forgiving light, great drinks, charming, cool service and, naturally, amazing music. The best of these places exist as a well-kept secret. They have to. Remember, they are very small. They are the cool opposite of cavernous clubs with queues being marshalled by “security”. Ours is a hazy secret. It is a place for when you don’t feel like winding down the night just yet. Elegant misbehaviour has a place in everyone’s life we think. The Basement is also ideal for a number of different projects. We’ve hosted exhibitions, pop-ups, product launches, cocktail classes, life drawing classes, yoga classes, screenings, literary salons, talks and Q&As.

THE GARDEN ROOM

Walk through the bar, past the Café, and you find yourself in the Garden Room, amongst a verdant expanse of greenery. Capturing the impression of an abandoned country house, where the gardens and state rooms have slowly grown into one another and gone to seed, the Garden Room and Greenhouse makes up the largest restaurant space. Mixing soft furnishings and armchairs with cane garden furniture and wrought iron benches, the whole space is filled with hanging baskets, fully grown trees and trailing creepers, effectively bringing the outside in and offering a relaxed and charming dining experience.

THE GREENHOUSE

Light and airy, and mixing faded grandeur with lush greenery, the Greenhouse is picture-perfect and can take most of the credit for making B&H Buildings one of the most Instagram-worthy venues in London. Sunny and bright during the day, the Greenhouse springs to life at night, as low lighting from the festoons streams through the palms, casting shadows against the white-washed walls.  Beautiful and atmospheric, the Greenhouse provides a stunning setting for larger private dining parties, catering for up to 22 seated guests.

THE CAFÉ

Featuring bentwood mahogany and wicker booths, the café area offers a cosy median between bustling bar and more formal restaurant. This versatile space is perfect for casual dining, catch-up drinks and informal meetings. During the day the café works well for those looking to escape the confines of the office. Equipped with free wifi, endless pots of tea, comfortable seating and large tables, this area is a favourite amongst those who prefer to go about their business in a more relaxed but efficient manner. In the evening, this light and airy space is transformed, lit up by beautiful hanging lights and can be hired for dinner or drinks parties for up to 30 guests.

THE BAR AT B&H BUILDINGS

Occupying the sunny west-facing side of the building, The Bar at B&H Buildings opens onto the street and the leafy park beyond via huge windows and doors.   The bar is ideal for daytime coffees, after-work drinks and informal gatherings. Influenced by those typically seen in a Grand Café, the beautiful marble mosaic bar top itself offers a generous and informal perch for guests wishing to sit closer to the action.  A bar menu is available for bookings, although guests are also very welcome to order from the a la carte restaurant menu.   The bar stocks a range of beers and fine wines, as well as an exhaustive selection of spirits; the star of the show, of course, is Bourne & Hollingsworth’s trademark cocktails, with a list featuring both classics and new creations.
