If staying in is the new going out, then The Little Yellow Door have a concept for you. Styled around a Notting Hill living room, The Little Yellow Door has themed its innards on a suitably notable trope, the humble, yet quirky front room. With a key to let yourself in, and your very own mug to drink out of, this chilled out atmosphere reigns supreme as pretences are left by the door. 

With Friday nights host to a ticketed dinner party up until 9:30pm, and Saturday evenings boasting your classic house party hankerings, expect a fresh blend of antics and artisan chow alike. From cracking cocktails, including specials in teacups & milk bottles and sharers in the likes of blenders and other living room accessories, to food supplied by Wandering Chef, The Little Yellow Door really will mark staying in as the new going out.

Looking for something a tad more tucked away? Be sure to check out their top notch private Tree House room. Perfect for groups up to 12, boasting informal seating and a secluded hideaway, this space is equipped with sports memorabilia,board games and many other tree house musts.

Thursday Boogie Jukebox (Launching Thursday 7th July) : Choose from a 'song menu' and whatsapp your request to the DJ to play. Old School Music including Motown, Soul, Funk, Disco, etc. from days gone by and the summers of LOVE.

Friday is our Ultimate Dinner Party followed by our infamous House Parties : Join us for our awesome four-course supper club (has sold out weekly for 20 months straight) before we turn the room around and get the DJ pumping house party style!

Saturdays - join us from 3pm-7pm for our Notting Hill Cocktail Tea Party - a boozy bohemian offering of spirit and bubble infused teas alongside some scrumptious sandwiches and cakes.

From 7pm onwards it's our weekly House Party antics come and see what all the fuss is about!

We went to TLYD tonight and it was heaving,great music and people cool, but really REALLY cramped, at one point a girl beside us had to be helped outside because of the stuffiness, however in saying that the place is uber cool, just wish there was more space. deebw visited The Little Yellow Door on 21 Jan 2017

We went for the boozy afternoon tea and it did not disappoint - the tea infused cocktail served up in a huge teapot was quite generously laced! We sat inside the tree house room and the general atmosphere was very cozy - charming without being too commercialised.

I've been there 2 times, once for a girls night and another for my BF's birthday and both times it was one of the best nights of my life! It feels like your best friend's house party with any of the guilt of not helping out that next day. I've tried the food there and its yummy and cheap. Birthday dinner party on Friday 4th November for ten girls - in high spirits, desperate to escape the bloody cold & raise many a glass of prosecco. And there is no better place for a combination of quirky venue, good food, great atmosphere & even better cocktails. Whether you go to The Little Yellow Door for dinner, drinks or just to dance, you're guaranteed a good evening - the housemates couldn't be more accommodating & I've yet to have a drink that didn't slip down almost too easily. Crack babies all round. My only fear is it's going to become too popular - so actually, don't go. It's terrible.

Definitely worth a visit!!! We came for after work drinks and a bite to eat. The Emoji menu was fun and the food is really good! Loved the house cocktail! We were lucky enough to be sat in the treehouse, perfect for a catch up with friends as its a little bit more secluded. We had Mike looking after us, who really pushed the boat out. Thanks Mike! I celebrated my 30th birthday here last Saturday with 25+ people and we had a really good time! The bar wait was quite long each time for drinks, but we had the Tree House with pitchers of cocktails - so that was nice! I had my birthday drinks here and it's so much fun! It was an easy going place and the music was fun and random just like a house party minus the cleaning up afterwards! We had our engagement drinks here last Friday and we could not have chosen a better venue- the perfect mix of cool yet unpretentious and chilled but great fun. Loved the music! Food and cocktails were great, as were the staff. Perfectly located for those coming after work! 100% recommend and will certainly be back! Celebrated my engagement drinks at little yellow door. It was the perfect location, easily accessible, and beautifully decorated inside. The staff were fantastic, and very hospitable before during and after the evening. The food platters were delicious and very diverse. The music was well varied to accommodate all tastes, and overall it was the perfect evening. Would definitely recommend Little Yellow Door to anyone whether it's a chilled out drink/meal or a larger party. Thanks again guys, look forward to visiting again soon!

Celebrated my partner's birthday here-was PERFECT. We were 25 guests, reservation process was very friendly (done via what's app). Staff was extremely friendly: security(Aaron) and waitress (Tess) were top class. Bar team was impressive with GREAT cocktails that were delivered in a blink of an eye. Recently came here for a works party, fantastic location! Highly recommend going, a brilliant vibe, friendly staff and quirky cocktails! The food was also delicious! Lovely to go somewhere that is slightly different to an ordinary bar.

Really nice spot. Loved the atmosphere. Relaxed but super fun. Friendly staff and great interiors with a funky cosy twist. Great food and drinks served in a different way made it easy to break the ice with my first date.

We had a lovely night but after paying for a four course meal we only received three of the courses. Wouldn't have been so bad had they not sent us the menu before - we missed out on an Oreo bourbon milkshake! So we were a bit dissapointed with the event.

hey. thanks for your feedback, but we're a little confused! Dessert was brught out on friday and dotted around on the coffee tables, did you miss that entirely? Had been meaning to come here ever since it opened having heard such great things about the food, drinks and relaxed atmosphere. I was certainly not disappointed on all counts. Arriving at the understated little yellow door the awesome doorman in the bowler hat showed us up the staircase to the 'flat'. Decorated with an eclectic mix of bizarre objects the cozy flat offers a house party experience for the public - something that you won't find anywhere else in London. We were served a superb dinner served at one long table. We started off with a delicious tropical house punch followed by a range of starters which were of Michelin standard. These were followed by one of the best beef pies I've ever tasted - ox cheeks which literally melted. Topped off with a delicious desert and shots on the house after a random poetry recital this place has something unique if you are looking for something slightly different to do with your evening. A superb cocktail menu keeps you partying until late with drinks such as 'Rum Diaries' (a beautifully flavoured and strong mojito topped with Prosecco) or 'Coffee & Cigarettes' (an espresso martini with a real cigarette on the side). Make sure you get down there soon!

5 Stars! We had our work Christmas Party & it is very hard to please everyone - different ages & drinking ability. We had a fab time, absolutely amazing cocktails which they obviously take pride in making to perfection. GREAT food - it didn't stop coming and was delicious. Its very laid back vibes helped us relax and enjoy the evening. Thank you.

Always a brilliant night, the food was amazing, the atmosphere never disappoints and the drinks are second to none. Although not a first visit for myself personally, we took our office team out for a leaving party on a Friday night and every single person had an absolute blast. The 'Treehouse' area is the best spot (super cosy) to play some board games and at the same time be part of the great house-party vibe. Highly recommended.

I was really impressed with the food, but it's an absolute rip off on drinks. The barman asked what kind of drinks we liked and brought three over - never once mentioned the price and we didn't think to ask. Then at the end of the night it turns out they're £10 each PLUS a table charge so our relatively cheap night turned out not to be! Also I sent several messages about wanting to reserve a space after dinner for us to drink, but these were ignored and after dinner we were shooed out of any kind of seating and told we had to stand in the corner as it was all booked out by someone who hadn't turned up yet. As we were made to feel so unwelcome we left. Probably not going to go back if i'm honest. Two stars for the food because it was great, but a let down in terms of service and the fact there were no fun games or 'house party antics' as advertised. Really cool place 30 seconds from Notting Hill Gate station. they were fairly on it when i was booking for my birthday, and though i do understand that they need to secure bookings as its a small venue, taking card details incase i didn't turn up -with the potential to be charged per head- was a bit of a put off for me. nevertheless i turned up and all was well, all my guests really enjoyed the place and they had reserved us a good sized area, we had our own waiter which was nice who was super friendly and had great banter with us all. again having to have a card on tab even though everyone was paying for their own (over priced drinks, but we'll come to that in a bit) drinks etc was again a bit off putting. Just doesnt seem necessary. we ended up hanging mainly in the tree house which had been reserved for me which everyone loved, super chilled cosy area where you can really feel like you have your own private party. Only down side was that most of my group would be gone for 30 minutes at a time -even though it wasn't that busy- waiting for the bar staff to serve them. either make the bar area bigger or get more bar staff. the wait was a topic of conversation all night. All in all, a really enjoyable evening, everyone in my group commented how cool they thought the place was and everyone there was really friendly. Id highly recommend for a small group for a chilled evening, not really suitable for dancing and not cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but everyone seemed to enjoy their drinks nevertheless. Will go again!

Booked 2 spots the same evening, so bit short notice but received a confirmation email nevertheless. On arriving the doorman said we weren't on his list (classic) and let us in only because 2 guests were leaving just then. This drags down my review considerably since this sort of behaviour belongs somewhere far inside someone's backside. Get an iPad bro, keep your list up to date. The place itself was steaming busy and had a pretty good vibe, tasty cocktails. funky interior and nice staff. Will I be back? Very disappointing experience at The Little Yellow Door. Firstly, the place was ridiculously overcrowded and there was in no way enough room to seat all the diners comfortably. I ended up squished in against the wall, where I had to firmly remain throughout the dinner as it was simply far too much hassle for both myself and those around me, who would all have to get up themselves, for me to get up. On the plus, it could have been worse as I could have been sat on the other side of the table/bench and been consistently barged by people trying to make their way through the almost non-existent gap between tables. On top of that, the food really wasn't great either and certainly not worth the price paid. After dinner the tables were taken out of the room, leaving a few seating areas dotted around the venue. Myself and my friends tried to sit in a number of these areas, only to be told to move as they had all been reserved by groups of (dare I say, rather pretentious) people coming in post-dinner. All in all, despite sounding like a great concept, I found the execution to be very poor and I certainly wouldn't recommend The Little Yellow Door to others.

The cocktails were really really tasty and i personally found them the same price as any other bar in London. The food was some of the best I've tasted for ages, quite literally!! The whole vibe was great and everyone was having a blast! The best thing about it though was the interior...god i wish my flat looked like that!

Very overpriced for terrible cocktails, honestly such a shame as they used to be quite good. The bartender actually managed to curdle a cocktail on their own menu, then shouted us out the door when we complained. AVOID

Very over priced. Tiny amount of food to share between 5/6, the drinks are £10+ and you have to stand up for desert! It basically becomes a bar after you finish your second course, so it definitely doesnt feel like a house party. Its definitely not somewhere i'd recommend with some many amazing popup bars in London.

Pretty cool little venue on the heart of Notting Hill. Its exactly as you would imagine your flat party!! Start with a few drinks in the living room, playing board games, etc, then dig into some delicious/quirky food being served as if it came from your own fridges. AND THEN before you know it, everyone found out about your flat party and its rammed!!! Great evening but luckily you not left with the cleaning!! Highly recommend this one and will definitely be back soon!!

Love this little gem of a bar! An awesome date place! Friendly staff, great cocktails and the food is immense. Always a fun atmosphere and nice crowd. Would recommend to anyone.

Went with a group of friends, the atmosphere seems lively if only the staff were not as pretentious, I wouldn't make this my main venue for the night. Unlikely to return.

Not sure about the food, as we didn't eat but the cocktails are probably the lowest quality in the area, the bartender put at least 2 tea spoons of sugar in each drink which didn't dissolve, a cocktail which contained egg was not shaken properly and curdled. When we complained the staff were incredibly rude and said that 'if you don't like in then leave' Do NOT try to complain at this place, much better places in Notting Hill...this is not one.

We had the most amazing night thanks to Murray and the gang. The food was absolutely delicious and we had a brilliant time at the cocktail masterclass. Will def be coming back. Would recommend it to everyone.

Fun, friendly and full of characters... Drinks were delicious and even though a bit chaotic not pretentious in the least! Would come back again and try the grub and to witness new shenanigans - no doubt every visit would be different !

Great idea and we were really excited but were very disappointed. Went on Saturday night and were there from 8pm onwards. The place never got that busy and the atmosphere was dry. No dancing was happing just lots of standing around and talking. The drinks were some of the most expensive I've come across and had we not been so far out of the city we would have left and headed elsewhere. We won't be coming back or recommending the place to anyone. A lovely idea just poorly executed.

Admin fee??? These really get on my nerves. What is the point in stating a price only to slap on additional (seemingly pointless) admin charges thereafter. If the price is £38 then state it clearly upfront. Unless I am missing something there is no other way to book? What are you administrating anyway? An automated online system where I have the privilege of printing my own ticket. Great thanks.

The "flatmates" must be writing these reviews themselves because the reviews are misleading. This place is AWFUL. A good concept but no execution on the night. Disorganised, bad food, bad service, poor decor, bad music. Don't go.

Had a really great night here last Friday. Absolutely delicious cocktails, lovely staff and a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to friends. Very cool and will definitely be returning, hopefully very soon!

It was the coolest place we could have ever went, wicked decor, nice local vibe- not too trendy for its own good while at the same time cool, edgy, a bit rocknroll and a total breath of fresh air. Loved it and we'll be back.

Went there for drinks for the second time on a Saturday night. It was crowded but we had booked a table/area and a girl from the staff kindly found a place for us to sit down. Nice, cosy atmosphere and great for a relaxed night with friends.

Obsessed with this place. Amazing music and the drinks & food are delicious. Turns into a super fun party on the weekends. Staff is very cool and crowd is particularly attractive :)

Snob balls crowd (though nice staff), weird (bad) music (think Nickelback/similar 90's bands), didn't feel like dinner and drinks in your friend's flat - more like some weird and pretentious venue where Notting Hill crowd goes to feel "artsy." Would not recommend.

I would recommend The Little Yellow Door to anyone! Walking in to the authentic bar situated in the middle of Notting Hill is a total treat. It immediately engulfs you in to the flat mates quirky sitting room, where even the tiniest details, from the cocktails in cafetieres and the ironing board in the corner reminds me of typical house parties, it all looks amazing. There was such a fun mix of people, the food was so delicious and the staff were great!

Attended their Friday dinner with about 20 guests for my 30th in January and had a great time. Everyone was so helpful in the up to and on the day itself. Would highly recommend this as a venue as it's quirky, cool but laid back too. Only thing I'd suggest would be improving the veggie option on the menu as I had a few complaints. Also I'd suggest if you're intending to stick around after dinner as we did, it's a good idea to book a table, if you don't there's absolutely nowhere to sit and it can get quite crowded. I really cannot say enough positive things about Little Yellow Door. I contacted them in November to plan a birthday party which I was hosting with my roommate. We had looked at several places in East London- all had a ridiculous minimum spend and terrible food/drink reviews. When my friend told me to look in to this amazing new bar he had heard about, I could not have been more excited. I WhatsApp'd LYD regarding availability and got a response within 10 minutes from Kam- just the way I like it (I am very impatient- from New York). I am also very controlling and found pretty quickly that there would be no need to be in this case. We had 60 guests ages 25-35 who arrived very hungry and very thirsty between 7:45-8:30. I have never seen people come to a party and actually stay for the whole duration of the event. It is incredible that you can have enough space to lounge, dance, eat, and drink and its all in Notting Hill. My friends felt completely at home, we were even encouraged to select the movie which was projected on the wall. The food came out slowly and in perfect waves. The chef came down with each new dish and evaluated the amount/satisfaction level. Aleks, the lovely lady helping me with the tables throughout the night made sure that the alcohol was flowing but never unnecessarily. They were able to accommodate my very picky Tequila standards and I never saw a guest empty handed. Not to mention all of my friends became obsessed with the punch bowls. They are lethal. Designed to make sure you will have enough energy to keep you ridiculously happy and dancing all night long. Honestly I could not have been more thrilled. The burgers, the crudite, the dips...everything was absolute perfection. To be honest, very, very rarely do I walk away from a place saying that there was absolutely nothing I would have changed or done differently. I'm almost scared to leave this review because I don't want to tell anyone about this amazing secret. Kam, Gabriel and the rest of the crew make sure quality control is high so you're never around people you wouldn't invite in to your own home. What can I say? Little Yellow Door is actually the perfect place if you like fun, good looking people and delicious food/drink. If you dont like those things then i really dont recommend it. For the first time I am actually looking forward to getting older so that I can host next years party there again. The staff here should be really proud. And if you are lucky enough to be invited to a party here, don't be afraid to believe the hype.

I had my 30th Birthday here on Saturday 14 Feb. I had made a booking for 30 people and was told we would have a suitable area available for that amount of people. When I arrived at 8.15 the place was completely overcrowded. There was another party which had completely taken over the bar and half of our area. We had no space to move, were being barged constantly by other people due to the complete lack of space and generally felt let down by what we were given. The Manager was amazing - he tried his best to get us more space and to move people away but there were just too many people in there to begin with. Manager was faultless as he tried his best with what was happening. I ended up leaving and moving everyone to my house for an actual house party as even though my place is tiny - it was more spacious than what we had. I feel like they're trying to do too much - if I had known there was another party in there I wouldn't have gone ahead as the space was so limited. It was very stressful and I didn't enjoy being there at all. I know that London can be like that and don't expect an empty bar but we felt let down by what was promised. What should have been a special night was stressful, claustrophobic and embarrassing for me to have bought my friends and family to such an overcrowded venue. If you fancy a drink while smashing into other people and barging your way round then this is the place for you!

I live in a beautiful shoebox of a flat where unless by some acrobatic feat we created a human pyramid, it would be hard to fit more than 10 guests inside. This is where the four young entrepreneurs behind Little Yellow Door have really caught onto what is a real London space issue by creating a fun and relaxed flat party vibe at their Notting Hill venue. The staff, called flatmates obviously, are friendly and welcoming. The place is small but spacious with several tables, comfy old sofas, persian rugs and films projected on the wall (ours was Monsters Inc). Even the bathrooms are kitted out with the usual flat clutter, like hairdryers and French comic books. At the bar, the mixologist will serve you up a film-inspired cocktail like The Libertine (my favourite) which was Earl Grey infused gin with lemon juice and served in a tea cup (watch out for the saucer, I'm sure we weren't the only people to smash one!). Special call out too to the chef as the food was delicious, and the portions were generous. All the platters are named after characters you meet at flat parties, like the Fridge Raider - which consists of sunday leftovers - and Mr "Overheard at Waitrose". I read one of the reviews below complaining about it being overcrowded. I would recommend reserving a table area, there is a modest minimum spend, and arriving early. I didn't find it overly crowded but towards the end of the night it did take a while to order and they could perhaps do with an extra person and card machine behind the bar. Overall, we had a really fun night, the music was great, so many of my friends text me the next day to say they loved the place. It is a pop-up but word has it it is staying for a while yet so book a table while you still can!

Great venue, great music, great location!!! Delicious cocktails, cool staff and funky decor! A great night was had by all and we will be going again sometime soon. Defiantly recommend :)

This place is soooo overcrowded - kind of like the tube on a Monday morning, so it was difficult to enjoy when u r constantly being hit by the wierd types that hang around here. Drink taste good but the place is over priced for what it is. The most disappointing thing was that we thought we were going to be "drinking in someones living room", couldnt have been more wrong. Also the music was 80s pop, wtf?

I had my 30th birthday party here on a Saturday night in January. I would definitely recommend the venue on an overall basis. The atmosphere is top-notch and you get a real house party feel. They play catchy old school tunes which we really enjoyed, however there isn't really any space to dance. We also had good service from our dedicated waiter. Couple of drawbacks though. I booked a space for 25 people and had about 18 people inside and about 6 of my friends had to queue outside for over an hour because the venue was at capacity. This was really disappointing as I would expect all my guests to be allowed entry without having to queue too long and I felt like we were punished for other parties underbooking or their additional guests being allowed entry over mine. The bar is also quite pricey (a fiver for a bottle of beer) and the bar service was slow. Other than that, we all had a great night. I would also recommend the venue scraps the £1 cloakroom charge as it's a bit unnecessary and goes against the house party theme.

Had such an amazing night!!! Me and a friend booked this for our Crimbo pressie to each other and were not disappointed!! Everyone was soooo friendly and the food and drinks were yummy! Would defo recommend!

Mixed and overall slightly disappointing is how I would describe our experience. I had reserved a table for 6 on a Thursday evening. Our first disappointment when we arrived was being asked to pay £1 per item for the cloakroom - in a bar - really? Not what you'd expect from the 'make yourself at home' concept. We arrived at 6.45pm, leaving us 15 minutes to order drinks before happy hour ended. The bar staff were being particularly slow and so we ended up asking if we could order drinks from our table (we could) and could we squeeze in an order before 7pm. We explained that we'd been waiting for over 10 mins at the bar and it was eventually agreed our order (placed at 6.59pm) could qualify for happy hour. We started ordering drinks and despite having been told by the barman that we could mix and match our 241 cocktails, we were told that is not their policy. A round the houses debate ensued and eventually we were told they would make an exception. We then retreated to our table in the treehouse (fun seperate little room which is a great private space though the seating is v low to the ground). About 20 mins later our drinks arrived - not sure why they didn't bring the 2 bottles of beer earlier. The next challenge was then ordering food. One of our party is vegetarian and wanted the cheese on toast. We were told this wasn't available as they'd had a problem with the oven. So he asked for a portion of chips instead. 'This isn't possible' we were told with no explanation other than the chef wouldn't be happy to do a portion of chips on it's own and just a blank refusal to budge. My suggestion that they throw a few extra chips into the fryer when they cook the ones we had ordered in the 'double slider + fries' offer was also met with 'it's not possible'. And so my friend was left with hoummus and pita as his only meal option. Later on, a different waiter came to our table and in a friendly conversation told us that they'd been having a terrible week - the boiler had blown, something had leaked and the kitchen had short circuited so the oven was out of action. I have no idea why this wasn't explained to us in the first place rather than seemingly just being downright awkward and having zero concept of customer service. Even the chef, who delivered some of our food apologised for the delay and the fact that not everything was available (we didn't get fries - they were replaced by roast potatoes). The food was delicious and the cocktails were fun, but some of the staff need some more training on speed of service and service with a smile. We left shortly after dinner and we won't be rushing back.

hey clare, I wanted to thank you for your feedfback- its very constructive and we really appreciate you taking the time out. We have taken your points on board and will do our best to improve on all matters concerned. What is true is thsat converting a living room to a bar has been a major challenge for the building appliances!! ;) That week alone was a nightmare with everything blowing as you mention, but we are tryingour best to rectifying that with more industrial equipment.. But guess we're learning as we go! As for the staff and the information pass down, i think that is relevant and fair and we will improve. For the £1 cloakroom charge, I do understand what you are saying, but sadly there are just some things that mean we still have to operate a business if we want to survive. Its all well & pretty having a fun concept, but if it doesnt pay the bills it dies very quickly. We have tried to stay true as much as we can, but some of the more minor things in our eyes we have had to also have our business hats on too. I hope that is understandable. I am delighted the food was delicious despite the wait, and the cocktails fun, and im confident that with a better service delivery you would be feeling as happy as most of our other reviewers here. 6 of us booked for the Friday night dinner party a couple of weeks ago. The staff and other diners were really cool people and the evening shot by. It was an italian themed menu when we were there and the food was unbelievable and so much of it, Hats off to the chef Chris, he did a cracking job. Cocktails were tasty too and a great bar to spend the evening after I had worked my way out of the food coma. People need to remember this is not just a quirky bar but the food is arguably even better than the vibe and cocktails.

Booked in advance for a friends Birthday. We reserved the "treehouse" which although was very cool quirky and cosy, was pretty chilly! The cocktails were top notch and so was the wine. The food although a little overpriced was very tasty and filling without the food slump after. The only card machine had broken, but on return with cash we were promptly served alcoholic coffee shots. Would go again, but only after pay day.

The staff were very friendly but quite disorganised, no one really knew what was going on and our food took a while to arrive, but the atmosphere was great and we were having fun so we didn't mind too much. However my main criticism was the price of the drinks, theres no drinks menu on their website and paying £5 for a small can of Heineken seemed a bit crazy, even for Notting Hill. I had also booked a table for 15 people, and arrived at 7pm yet the table we were given could only really fit 7. Atmosphere was great but not sure i'm in a hurry to go back.

what a disaster!!!! was advised a week before we booked that no tables were left but we could be added to guestlist of which would guarantee entry before 9pm. we arrived on the night to some friends being in the queue to get in only to be advised that they were already to capacity. and that it was one in one out at 8.30pm!!!! we had all travelled from the other side of london for my brother's leaving do before he moves abroad, we were a group of 15, and after calling Ed the host, he came down and took me upstairs to show how busy it was, he did eventually let us in however a lot of my group were disappointed by the lack of organisation and we decided to leave as it was crammed full of people and about 6 people deep at the bar. Overall we were all very excited about trying out this quirky different new venue, but the lack of organisation ruined by brothers leaving do and we were forced to get taxis back towards home and go someone local as being sucha a large group this is why we wanted to book questlist eetc! Very disappointed, and a ruined evening! you've been warned, guesstlist does not guarantee entrry!!!!

I had a really good time at this venue, the concept is great, it makes you feel warm and cosy with the awful weather outside. The staff were bubbly and the there was a really good atmosphere. I would definitely go again!

Found out about this bar on this website - I love finding hidden gems on here. This one looked right up my street and i wasnt disappointed. I didnt tell my friend where we were going and when we arrived and there was just the yellow door and a friendly bouncer with a bowler hat who unlocked the door for us he was very impressed! The bar room itself was laid back and buzzy. Music a tad loud for a 7pm on a thursday. It was already full by then so a real great buzz. We managed to find a couple of stools at the bar (will book next time!) The cocktails were tasty - although the bartenders were rammed and it took a wee while she was really friendly and apologised a lot. I had a jam something and it was lovely. My mate had one in a teacup with a jammy dodger...also really nice. All in all...great find and will definitely be back!

Heard about this place and decided to check it out with a couple mates. Place was buzzing - make sure to get a reservation in to get a table, because it can get busy. Food was delicious. Especially enjoyed the toasted brioche rolls with pork. Would recommend highly.

I was recommended this place by a friend and so glad I took their advice on going. I've never been to anywhere like this before - loved the flat share/house party relaxed vibe and the waiters and doormen were really friendly!! My friends and I devoured some stonking cocktails (a little too easily perhaps!), before moving onto a highly commendable red wine. The neighbouring table shared a baked camembert with truffle oil and mushrooms that looked to die for and the music was awesome!! LOVE that they do dinners on Friday nights - a dinner party without the hassle of hosting it and cooking yourself, and permitting of raucous behaviour unlike restaurants! I'm booking for my birthday next year, 4 months in advance...

Heard about this treat of a venue through a friend of mine who said it summed me up perfectly, he wasn't far wrong! Fantastically homely feel, a very friendly crowd, with some lovely cocktails and immaculate looking food dishes. We were planning to move on to another bar or two afterwards but ended up spending all evening here as was difficult to leave! Yes Yellow Door-I will be back!

Recommended by a friend to check this little place out and so glad that I did. Food, drinks and service were all fantastic (try the Camembert). The whole atmosphere was great and certainly something totally unique. Have a gander, you won't be disappointed.

Heard on the grape vibe about this gem of a place. Great location, really nice place to grab some ridiculously good food and a few drinks. Genuinely felt strangely like it was at a friends house! Great hosts, top night, would recommend to anybody who is looking for something new and fun.

Came out to Notting Hill and what a terrible situation. Over-crowded, told there was no food at 9pm, weak apology along the lines of "we are a pop-up doing our best". This was a birthday event and we were happy to spend over £150 with this establishment. Left at once. So disappointed and ruined our night. Don't bother being nice about it now, folks. You had the chance at 9.10pm on Saturday.

On Saturday, we sold double the amount of food we have ever sold- it seems the word of mouth of our delicious food is spreading very quickly and more & more people are having food with us, and it took us by surprise on saturday. as a new pop-up, and one focused on drink sales, i hope you will understand why this has happened. I threw my birthday party here on Saturday night – it was fantastic! I was running a little late but checked-in with the guys who upon my arrival immediately sorted out my pre-booked space for 25+ people. In my booking I had asked for bottles / glasses to be placed on the tables – and this was done within 20mins of arriving, Thanks guys. If I’m honest, the bar service was a little slow – however, I think this was due to the fact that the place was super packed and busy (which of course is a good thing) I would just say that, seeing as I was told that they knew they’d be busy, perhaps they should’ve hired a few extra pair of hands. We had a lovely French waiter who was manning every table; it was a job for 3 people at best! He still remained calm and tried to deliver to tables and guests as quickly as possible; even whilst having mixologist shouting at him from all angles! So, Monsieur – thank you for remaining professional! On the whole, the evening was a brilliant experience – fantastic Space - my guests had a great time! I met some of the guys towards the end of the night who were very nice and friendly. It’s definitely a place worth visiting. Just arrive early!!! Aaron is a legend! Very authentic experience. Everyone in the flat was rude, the cocktails were awful and there was a clear hierarchy of 'favourite' punters. Only redeeming feature was the lovely Aaron manning the front door.

As discussed on the phone yesterday, you didnt actually meet any of the flatmates- the guy you met was our waiter on his first trial with us, and was obviously nervous and not as attentive as he should have been- we apologise for that but hope you understand this sadly happens. I'm not sure what to say in regards to the cocktails as they seem to be loved by everyone else writing reviews- we dont pretend to be a experimental cocktail venue- its a house party vibe with good cocktails & good food. We apologise if it wasnt up to your standard but sadly have to trust that our cocktails are fine considering the positive coverage we are getting from all customers & press alike. I booked a table on the 13/11/2014 for eight people. I arrived early and Arthur, the Maitre d' was happy to make my table available a little earlier. He was charming and courteous, perhaps a little overwhelmed as he confessed it was his first night at LYD, but nevertheless professional and eager. The interior decor is intimate, eccentric and brilliant. It may even go a little beyond the 'housemates' flat' theme the bar espouses, and pushes one into a 'eccentric Bloomsbury set play pen'. Gabrielle, the bar manager: an asset . Happy the engage you at the bar, and share an interesting story. The cocktails are excellent, well designed and were consistently executed throughout the night, as my guests agreed; mainly through ordering more as well as saying so! Recommend - 'Coffee and Cigarettes' and the 'Cookies and Cream' should be tried for its novelty. The 'Space Jam' perhaps a little too tart'. And very importantly, Kam, Jamie, Ed and Lalie, the four partners in this project made themselves known, sat with us, and were happy to talk about the Yellow Door as well as their previous projects. It is perhaps a shame that this doesn't happen as much elsewhere in London, Chris, the chef, also joined us after service ended - our 'Yoga Bunny', 'Cheese on Toast' and 'The Feast' bar food were excellent and worthy additions to our final tab. I guess every review 'has' to have a negative - here it would have been slight delays and a mixed up order. But those have been written off to the fact this bar is still in its infancy. And to be quite honest we were having too much fun making friends with everybody else, and were been taken care of too well by all the staff to really care.

Very cosy. Will definitely go back. Looking forward to trying the dinner parties when they are up and running as the bar food was totally delicious. I recommend it..... Go!

Totally in love with the concept! The decoration is full of small details. The food and the cocktails are amazing. The Little Yellow Door convinced me and it will definitely be my second home this winter.

Amazing food and then a great house party. It really did feel like a friend's flat. Haven't had such a great night out in ages. East London cool meets Notting Hill class. Will definitely be going back to the Little Yellow Door.

Went to the pre-launch - lucky me! Bl00dy loved it here! What a fun and interesting concept. Just what the area needed...a bit of unpretentious east london cool! Next time I come Im definitely going to bring a weird greek sprit I've got so I can get my personal mug! Might just be a new favourite of mine
