Extreme Layering | Boohoo Games

Topshop Scuba Formal Trousers (Old)
Rings - Assorted (Old)

Okay guys, the cat is officially out of the bag - I've recently been working on a collab with Boohoo. Omgaaad, right? Boohoo got in contact a few weeks ago to ask if I would like to take part in the Boohoo Games campaign - Which is centered around cute, fashion themed olympic events! I was nominated to take part in the Extreme Layering category, which I can honestly admit, is not my fashion forte. Nethertheless, I definitely pushed myself outside my comfort zone with this outfit, and gained a new styling skill!

When I think of new season laying, the one style that comes into mind is formal chic. That preppy, yet laidback, vibe comes hand-in-hand with some clever, high fashion layering. Starting with the necktie, which saw a huge comeback in late SS16 & is set to trend throughout Autumn. I couldn't help but pick out the Bella Top* which features the daintiest chiffon style tie and a layered top, which added some dimension under the Georgia Crop Jumper*. A crop jumper is just purrrfect for this transition period (especially if you live in Wales, like me) as the weather just isn't playing ball anymore *sigh*.

A little black adds a lot of sophistication. I pretty much live in these scuba formal trousers from Topshop which were a bargain in the sale months back, and they make a perfect base for this outfit. Teaming them with my lil heeled loafers* from New Look gives me a little boost in the height department. Oh, and you can totally afford to flash a bit of cheeky ankle.

Whilst the bucket bag has been all the rage for months now, you can add a simple step to instantly up your style game by wearing it across the body, as seen on the AW16/17 catwalk à la Chloe & Chanel. The Charli Bag* hits the celestial/embellished trends and the chain detail has that little touch of edge that I crave in any outside.

Finally, the last feature of the outfit is the Mia Blazer* which features a cape-style layer - and I'm in love with it. The cape style is gr8 for showing off any under-layers whilst keeping chills at bay. TBH it was pretty difficult to pick and with so much choice, you can definitely find your perfect AW transition jacket with Boohoo this coming season.

How are you layering up in the transition to AW16/17?
