\nThis week, we’re crushin’ on singer-songwriter and absolute babe, Sarah Close. Hailing from the Isle of Wight, she released her debut EP,\u00a0Caught Up\u00a0<\/a><\/em>earlier this year and has just dropped new single,\u00a0Only You.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

Here’s what went down when we grabbed five…<\/p>\n

How did it all start for you?<\/strong>
\nWhen I was 14, I started secretly taking my mum\u2019s guitar up into my bedroom at night and teaching myself. From there I began writing songs and then uploading them onto YouTube.
\n<\/strong>
\nWhat does your typical day look like?<\/strong>
\nWake up around 8am. Make myself some breakfast and dance round my kitchen to whatever songs I\u2019m loving that day. I\u2019ll probably play piano for a bit, do emails, maybe read a book and then head to my writing session for 12. Usually I finish anytime between 7 and 10pm. My evenings consist of cooking, chatting and finishing anything left on my to do list!<\/p>\n

Describe your sound in three words\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Electronic, pop-py and fun.<\/p>\n

What was your most memorable gig?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It has to be playing BST Hyde Park this summer. It was the first festival I\u2019ve ever played so everything was a totally new experience! The sun was shining, the set was great, the crowd were lovely and friends that I hadn\u2019t seen in ages were in the crowd and surprised me by coming up afterwards. It was just a really lovely day.<\/p>\n

What did you have on your playlist growing up?<\/strong><\/p>\n

S Club 7, Shania Twain, Carole King, Blink 182, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Aly & AJ, The Strokes. My parents\u2019 taste influenced me a lot.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the last song you listened to?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Go Gina<\/em> by SZA. I love her and that song is my anthem.<\/p>\n

Who\u2019s the coolest person you\u2019<\/strong>ve met?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A while ago I met Ed Sheeran, that was cool and he was very nice.<\/p>\n

If you could collab with anyone who would it be and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rihanna, she\u2019d be fun, and I find her inspiring for so many different reasons.<\/p>\n

What does 2017 have in store for you? <\/strong><\/center><\/p>\n

More music being released and lots of time in the studio writing songs. I\u2019m so excited for this year.<\/p>\n

What advice would you give anyone wanting to get into music? <\/strong><\/center><\/p>\n

Practice your craft! Work out who you are and stand for it, it\u2019s so easy to be swayed. Get good at shaking someones hand and remembering their name and most importantly have patience and belief in yourself<\/p>\n

Colourful. Fun. Comfy. Sporty and ever changing!<\/p>\n

Somewhere near the sea, hanging with my friends or having a weekend to myself doing whatever I wanna do!<\/p>\n

Building IKEA furniture at record speed.<\/p>\n

Sticky toffee pudding, sushi and animals.<\/p>\n
