YES! It really is. But do we learn and start lowering down our expectations. Well, of course NOT. You would think that all those years consisting of bad experiences would teach us something. Yeah, right! Here\u2019s a list of things you are probably expecting to happen this year, but the chances are in fact minimalistic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"collage i1\">\n<div class=\"collage-image i1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/thefix.boohoo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/nye-expectation-vs-reality_61174_34016.gif?w=800&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"NYE Expectation Vs Reality\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>1. The Plans<\/h2>\n<p><i>Expectation<\/i><\/p>\n<p>There are two weeks until the big day and you are starting to get all hyped up about all the amazing invitations you&#8217;re bound to receive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i>Reality<\/i><\/p>\n<p>You end up deciding between spending the night with your parents or going to the same pub you\u2019ve been practically living in for the last few years.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"collage i1\">\n<div class=\"collage-image i1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/thefix.boohoo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/nye-expectation-vs-reality_28554_50785.gif?w=800&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"NYE Expectation Vs Reality\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>2. The Party<\/h2>\n<p><i>Expectation<\/i><\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;re expecting a Gatsby style party, right? Glamour, glitter, champagne, sparkly outfits.<\/p>\n<p><i>Reality&nbsp;<\/i><\/p>\n<p>What you really get is 10 people in a crappy student\u2019s flat who are Snapchatting the night away instead of actually enjoying it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"collage i1\">\n<div class=\"collage-image i1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/thefix.boohoo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/nye-expectation-vs-reality_56348_71027.gif?w=800&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"NYE Expectation Vs Reality\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>3. The Countdown<\/h2>\n<p><i>Expectation<\/i><\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;re surrounded by all your favourite people, your bestest friends. Your soul mates, your GIRLS! You&#8217;re making a toast and confessing your love to one another, making huge plans for the upcoming year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i>Reality<\/i><\/p>\n<p>You and your GIRLS are smashed, some of the squad members are missing due to being sick in the toilet and you&#8217;re not necking champagne, you&#8217;re shotting sambuca. Counting to that midnight golden 12? Forget that&#8230;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"collage i1\">\n<div class=\"collage-image i1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/thefix.boohoo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/nye-expectation-vs-reality_40836_85870.gif?w=800&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"NYE Expectation Vs Reality\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>4. Midnight Kiss<\/h2>\n<p><i>Expectation<\/i><\/p>\n<p>We associate NYE with a midnight kiss. After all that\u2019s the whole point, right? We didn\u2019t get a kiss under the mistletoe but who cares! The clock hits 12 and you get kissed by a hot stranger who turns out to be THE ONE .. that\u2019s so much more special!&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i>Reality<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The stranger next to you is a drunk weirdo who you\u2019ve been trying to avoid all night. There are no hotties at the party so you just settle for a kiss from your bestie.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"collage i1\">\n<div class=\"collage-image i1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/thefix.boohoo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/nye-expectation-vs-reality_44261_98933.gif?w=800&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"NYE Expectation Vs Reality\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>5. Getting Ready<\/h2>\n<p><i>Expectation<\/i><\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ve planned and bought your outfit weeks in advance. You know you will be SLAYING that party.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i>Reality<\/i><\/p>\n<p>You start getting ready and it ALLLLLL goes wrong- your contour is smudged, your lashes won\u2019t stay, your hair\u2026. there is much that could go wrong with your hair. What do you do? You call your friends and you tell them you won\u2019t be attending because you can\u2019t put your false lashes on (we\u2019ve all done that so don\u2019t even try to deny it).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"collage i1\">\n<div class=\"collage-image i1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/thefix.boohoo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/nye-expectation-vs-reality_80747_25033.gif?w=800&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"NYE Expectation Vs Reality\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>6. The New Year \u2013 New Year- New ME<\/h2>\n<p><i>Expectation<\/i><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s it, now is the time. We are getting our life together! \u2026.
